“You Ruined My Life”: Crown Refuses to Lay Charges on Cops who Brutalized Innocent 17-Year-Old Girl
On November 13, 2023, 17-year-old Haylie Nahamko-White stepped off the bus after her lifeguard shift. In a terrifying instant, two men jumped from an unmarked car and violently tackled her to the ground.
Convinced she was being kidnapped, Haylie never saw a badge. She had no idea the two men were Edmonton Police officers — and she fought desperately for her life.
The brutal assault left her unconscious and bleeding, inflicting permanent physical and emotional injuries that still haunt her today.
The common-sense-defying excuse police came up with was that the officers mistook 17-year-old Haylie for a 25-year-old Asian female suspect.
“My teeth fell out, but my braces held them in. I had bolt patches — I still do. My SI joint and my hip is completely torn. I still suffer from severe pain. I’m going to be 20 here and I still deal with it… I still have nightmares.”
For nearly three years, the identities of the two @edmontonpolice officers who brutalized Haylie Nahamko-White have been shielded from the public. Today, in the public interest, @MediaBezirgan is naming them for the first time following Alberta Crown prosecutors, under Justice Minister @mickeyamery, ruled that no criminal charges will be laid against the officers.
The Abaxx #Silver contract is a big deal. Launches Friday.
It’s 4-9s (COMEX is 3-9), industrial grade for Asian manufacturing, and a better arb center (inventory flows) for offshore China than shipping bulky metal around the world (see Russ’ comment below, he just spent the week in HK where they’re very excited for our contract).
Abaxx worked with a major vault provider on brand new infrastructure for this market and materials to flow in and out (in a modern way :)
We’ll also have a real-time, in-vault spot market (with real time digital title transfer services) ramping up soon.
Abaxx will have the most modern physical market in the world for Silver and #Gold, in the best location 🇸🇬

Hey #yeg - Anyone recognize this local scammer/thief who has ripped off numerous stores/vendors in the Edmonton area?
The payment scam she's running goes unnoticed for long enough to make a getaway and despite being decently well known, nobody has been able to ID her yet.
$580,000,000 in oil futures moved 16 minutes before Trump announced a pause in Iran strikes.
Not after. Before.
The BBC just documented five separate instances of massive, suspiciously timed trades preceding Trump’s biggest market-moving announcements — oil futures, the tariff pause, Maduro’s capture, Iran ceasefire bets.
The platforms where anonymous accounts cashed in? Polymarket and Kalshi. Donald Trump Jr. sits on Polymarket’s advisory board and is a strategic advisor to Kalshi.
There’s even a law against this. The STOCK Act (2012) explicitly covers executive branch officials. Zero prosecutions in 14 years.
Oh, and the DOJ unit created after Watergate to prosecute exactly this kind of corruption? Trump cut it from 36 lawyers to 2 and stripped its authority to file new cases.
The White House is completely silent as BBC confirms a consistent pattern of massive financial spikes occurring just minutes before Donald Trump makes market moving announcements. The administration is facing severe allegations of illegally profiteering off inside knowledge.
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca I think from memory was about 4 billion in revenue on first year so a little less then 10 years for full payback to tax payers. I think government should continue to own and ensure all Canadians benefit. Maybe like Norway’s model. If gov can do it competitively.
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca Plus Canada benefits greatly from that pipeline in the oil differentials, Canada owns that pipeline and collects the revenue from its transportation but they do both benefit from the differentials shrinking. I think it will be a win for all in the long run.
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca Not sure about the 2 billion in subsidies. Please list your source on that. I know all about that pipeline though. Why did the costs ballon to 38 billion from its original 5.4 billion oh yea because of excessive government intervention plus covid.
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca If you leave the energy companies alone they will use the excess profits to increase production and cause the price to go down. If you steal their profits no one will invest in them and we all will suffer more energy poverty. It’s not perfect but capitalism generally works
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca Tons of companies had to report losses over the last 15 to 20 years, 2008, 2014, 2020 come to mind plus the recent drawdown to about 55 wti just recently. Not every company is a behemoth like shell. What does every company in a capitalist system try to do?
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca And why is it we let the banks give themselves huge bonuses when they are making big money off the average Joe then when they cause a financial collapse we bail them out with tax payers money but we treat oil companies exactly opposite
@pcmt7591 @sarobertsonca Huh dam rights they are low for companies what are you smoking? I’ve seen WTI at -37 dollars. Companies were having to pay to get it taken away. I’ve seen natural gas negative many times because of its abundance. It’s why companies used to flare it.
