@coachball2709@parebels@russcanzler@prepbaseball For the picture to be able to throw a second in this case. He would have to turn directly towards second. He can’t step towards first and then go to second. Sorry.
@coachball2709@parebels@russcanzler@prepbaseball That’s not what happened in the video. F1 picked up his foot, stepped towards first, put it down, and did not throw. That’s a balk. In OBR 6.02(a)3 Comment. “ a pitcher is to step directly toward a base before throwing into the base and is required to throw(except to 2nd base)”

You wouldn’t like it. You high school coaches love it when you get pitches called three balls off the edge of the plate. You hate it when your guy is batting.
Might sound crazy, but maybe one day varsity H.S. baseball needs Robot Umpires/ABS System.
No disrespect to umpires, but with league titles & playoff spots on the line, consistency behind the plate matters.
Cost would be an issue, but something to think about. Thoughts?
@Seth_3773 Looks like college level. When the runner and fielder meet, the fielder has the ball, so this is legal. The runner violates the collision rule so even if the ball was dislodged the runner is out.
@AndyMorales8@TheEXECUTlONER_ Wrong…R1 tapped home plate after #7, another offensive player offensive player not in the game -grabbed him by the arm and pulled him over to the plate. That’s physical assistance and is not legal. R1 is out at that point.
1) R1 (#47) missed home plate. 2) R1 then touched home plate AFTER #7, another offensive player who was not a runner physically assisted him. 3) at that point, R1 is out. Umpire was correct…but for the wrong reason.
This umpire was calling a 9U baseball game.
A player came up to bat and hit a home run.
What happened next is anyone’s guess.
Most are saying the umpire blew up after he lost his mind and robbed a 9 year old of a home run.
What do you think the call should be? Do you think k he blew it big time or do you agree with the call?
@MiLBEjections@BiscuitBaseball Are you a minor league/major league umpire? I don’t see any rule or rule interpretation that would support that a batter who becomes a runner can commit batter’s interference. It’s more likely that the umpire ruled that the interference was intentional.
@MiLBEjections@BiscuitBaseball I think this might have been the wrong call. Once the batter takes “Ball 4” he’s no longer a batter, he’s a runner. Any interference on a throw by a runner would need to be intentional.
Can we get some love for fundamental baseball here!
Sucks it was against my #thisismycrew#Brewers
First bunt was outstanding, the second and third bunts just picked on the pitcher who very poorly fielded his position.
Put the ball in play and good things can happen! Strikeouts suck!
Shout out to @flowsdoc for the video.
@BrentASJax High school has a 20-second pitch rule and a 1 minute between innings rule. The former no one enforces but it could easily be enforced with a few modifications. The latter is unreasonable.
