You have to feel for Martin Boyle. He will go down as one of the players most unlucky to NEVER play for Australia at a World Cup 😭🇦🇺
2022: Named in the squad. Then missed out due to a heartbreaking knee injury.
2026: Cut at the final hurdle after Cristian Volpato decided to represent the Socceroos at the 11th hour.
At 33 years old, you feel this may well have been his last chance.
41 caps. 10 goals. No World Cups. Feeling for you today, Martin.

I remember when I was playing for Hearts of Midlothian and living in Edinburgh fun.
Even after spending 7 years in Sweden I still struggle with the cold especially the Scottish weather.
My idea of joining the club was to get some game time since I wasn't playing a lot at Vitesse due to the Chelsea situation with the club but I try to fight my way to be through the it but the situation was bigger than myself and could also be a reason why I don't like Chelsea 😂
So I moved to Hearts to play with a coach who has always followed me from my days in Sweden and I was delighted to join.
We made Europe that year but Celtic have always been the powerhouse in Scotland.
Many people still asked me today why I didn't stay longer with Hearts, I really wanted to stay but the club was under administration so their budget was not too big and I thought I could get another chance at Vitesse but I was wrong.
I could have taken the risk and try to play my way back to a good level that I believe I can reach, with my short time in Edinburgh and to see how Hearts missed out on the title race this season in the last game of the season was devastating for the fans and all the people that have been rooting for them.
There are times when I was not playing at Vitesse even if I'm scoring with the reserves and I still couldn't get games then I realised it doesn't matter what I do I will not play.
I felt less of myself at that time but I said to myself that I will have to take a step back so I can move forward and I did by joining Atromitos in Greece.
Seriously that is never a handball at Fir Park. The boy headed it 20 yards. The ref takes one look after VAR calls him over. Embarrassing for Scottish football.
