నేలమీద నడక

చేనుకోసి మినుము విత్తులు చల్లిన నల్లనేల పొలాల్లో ఇవాళ మధ్యాహ్నం దాదాపు 2 కిలో మీటర్లు నడిచాను.
వ్యవసాయ భూముల్లో నడిచేటప్పుడు కాసేపు చెప్పులు చేత్తో పట్టుకుని నేలతల్లితో పాదాలకు కితకితలు పెట్టించుకోవడం సరదా!

ఇవాళ తిరిగిన వడిశలేరు పొలాల్లో మట్టి వుండలు కళ్యాణం లడ్డూల కంటే పెద్దవి. వాటి నుంచి వస్తున్న గడ్డి మొలకలు అక్కడక్కడా పొడుచుకు వచ్చే టెన్త్ క్లాస్ కుర్రాడి గెడ్డంలా వున్నాయి. ఓ మట్టి వుండ మీద కాలు మోపితే అది మెత్తగా చితికి పోయాయి. మరి కోన్ని బేలెన్స్ తప్పించి నిన్ను పడేస్తా అని బెదిరిస్తూ పక్కకి దొర్లిపోయాయి. మామూలుగా పావుగంట దూరం సర్కస్ విన్యాసాల నడకవల్ల అరగంట దాటింది. పడిపోబోయి మూడు సార్లు కష్టం మీద నిలదొక్కు కున్నాను. ఈసారి నావల్ల కాదు అనుకుంటుండగా సర్వేశ్వరరావుగారు చెయ్యి అందిచ్చి పడకుండా నిలబెట్టేశారు.

ఈ నేలల్లో నల్లమట్టి, ఇసుక, పొడితనం, తేమ సరిసమానంగా వుండటం వల్ల తేమ, తగులుతుందే తప్ప బురద అంటుకోదు. ఇది పొగమంచు కురిసే హేమంత్ రుతువు కావడం వల్ల ఆ నేలలు మాయిశ్చరైజర్ రాసుకున్న శరీరాల్లాగ వడిశలేరు ప్రాంతం గల్లా లేదా నల్ల భూములు మృదువుగా వుంటాయి . వరి పెసలు మినుముల సాగుకు ఇవి అనువైనవి

ఆ భూమిపై నడుస్తున్నప్పుడే నేను పుట్టిపెరిగిన జంగారెడ్డిగూడెం ప్రాంతపు తాడువాయి భూములు గుర్తుకొచ్చాయి. అక్కడ కొండల నుండి వానలకు కొట్టుకొచ్చే ఇసుక భూమి పైపొరల్లో మట్టి కలిసి ఎర్ర ఇసుక / ఎర్రమట్టి నేలలు అయ్యాయి. ఇవి పొగాకు మిర్చి కాయగూరలు మొదలైన పొడి పంటలకు అనువైనవి. ఎగుడు లేని సమతలమైన భూములు కావడం వల్ల అక్కడ నడక సుళువు అనిపిస్తుంది. కాని పొడి ఇసుక నేలలో నడక సాగదు. ప్రతీ అడుగూ నేలలో దిగిపోతున్నట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది. రెండో అడుగు వెయ్యడానికి పాదాన్ని పైకి తీసుకోవడానికి కొద్ది పాటి ఎనర్జీ అవసరం అన్న ఫీలింగ్ వస్తుంది.

నేను తమ్ముడు మా ఎర్రమట్టి పొలాల్లో ఆడుకునే వాళ్ళం! తోసుకునేవాళ్ళం! కలబడేవాళ్ళం! కొట్టుకునేవాళ్ళం! ప్రతీసారీ తమ్ముడే గెలిచేవాడు ! నేను పడిపోయినపుడు చేయి ఇచ్చి నిలబెట్టే వాడు! తమ్ముడు ఇప్పుడు లేడు రెండేళ్ళ క్రితం చనిపోయాడు! #nrjy 301224
