@Teabagchampion@tomtwine2459 It's a good job if you have your own gear. It would probably be cheaper to grow maize if you were paying a contractor though.
@2pintpaddy I would have thought your yield was pretty good for the type of system you use? Calving a month later would probably lead to better intake in early lactation as the grass would be drier, and in turn to better peak and overall yield. That's only my opinion though.
@jeomaher 7 foot prodig takes around the same weight as an 8 foot redrock here. As you go wider you can't drive it into the pit as much. Massive difference in build quality between the 2 though. I'd go redrock.
@jeomaher@JosephPatter5on T7210 on the feeder here. Same as a t6080. A sow on diesel compared with the claas equivalent. Still a great tractor. They don't give much trouble and when they do they're easily sorted.
