The not your keys, not your crypto crowd, have added an asterisk for Blackrock. Apparently, when the largest fund in the world holds your crypto, subjecting it to the same controls that a bank account suffers from, it's totally cool because number go up.
Tell me, when Midnight drops on Bitcoin, will the Blackrock ETF holders be able to participate? Can they tell Blackrock to mine on their behalf? When there is another block size war, who gets to decide which chain is legit?
The miners, right? Do they mine the chain because of philosophy or token price? If Blackrock owns 20 percent of the supply and dumps chain 1 in favor of chain 2, then chain 1 is worthless, but the miners will still pick it???
Know your masters. Bitcoin has always been about getting rid of middlemen. I'm old enough to remember thar self-custody is the only path forward. Praising a mechanism that ends it run by the same people Bitcoin was created to run away from is the antithesis of everything Satoshi stood for.
