The original St Mary’s Church in Lower Ince was demolished in 1978 due to mining subsidence. The current active Anglican St Mary’s parish church still operates in a converted school building.

The building shown in the video is a separate long-vacant former church structure. In 2024 it was being repurposed by Impact Community Group as a food bank with a small multi-faith prayer room—not a mosque. The group and local reports explicitly denied mosque plans. It had failed to sell at auction twice while empty.
