Yigal Ozeri, born in Israel in 1958 lives and works out of New York. He is celebrated for his large-scale cinematic portraits of distinctive young women in rich prodigious landscapes. Hypereal figurative images which document contemporary life are his hallmark. Ozeri draws inspiration from the Pre-Raphaelite aesthetics, where a realistic depiction and a sharp and brilliant lighting, near perfect photographic depiction of minute details is what Ozeri infuses his paintings, giving it an ethereal and uninhibited sensibility.
His signature style is one of hyper reality. In the first glance the paintings look like photographs. However, when observed closely they are not photographs but are detailed oil paintings. The technique of oil painting has been mastered to a magnificent level. Yet another trademark of his work is the play of light which falls on the hair of his protagonists/models. The paintings display his vision, and his passionate affair with painting natural scenes of life and nature.
The exhibition is on view till 15th October, 2023 at the Bihar Museum, Patna.

Leor Grady is an Israeli-born visual artist. His works explore the dynamics between communities in Israel, focusing on marginal communities and their cultural traditions that the mainstream has ignored. Grady came from an Eastern Jewish background (Jews from Islamic countries) and grew up in the Israeli periphery, dealing with the heritage and history of his community. Through his art he challenges the oppressive aspects of Jewish-Israeli internal colonialism and reclaims the place of Yemenite Jews in Israeli history.
Grady's photographs emphasize the readiness of the plants cultivated by Yemenite Jews and their connection to the community's being-in-the-world. His explorations offer a different perspective on romantic notions of the "primitive" and challenges the modern attempt to monopolize knowledge.
The exhibition is on view till 15th October, 2023 at the Bihar Museum, Patna.

Yosef Joseph Yaakov Dadoune is a French-Israeli artist. Dadoune's artworks delve into themes of displacement, migration, and cultural identity, particularly focusing on the experiences of Eastern Jewish communities within Israeli society. Drawing from his own background as a second-generation immigrant from Algeria and France, Dadoune explores the complexities of cultural assimilation and the erasure of traditions. Dadoune's drawings challenge the Zionist symbols of rootedness and belonging, instead utilizing the flower as a metaphor for nomadism and the experience of being detached from one's cultural heritage.
Through his art, Dadoune invites viewers to reflect on the impact of immigration, exile, and the loss of ancestral connections, prompting a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of identity and belonging.
The exhibition is on view till 15th October, 2023 at the Bihar Museum, Patna.
