Copper dog was amazing! It was a race to the red lantern for our two 80 teams. Wade Canavan won and secured the red lantern at 9th place, Alyssa Sarlund beat him by 50 seconds and gained 8th place. Our 30 musher Suz Harris received 9th place and Hailey Marchese received 17th!

Our club will be at the @CopperDog150 next weekend! It’s the closest race to campus as the start is in downtown Calumet so come meet our puppers, cheer on our teams, and enjoy the fireworks! We will have 2 teams in the 80, 2 teams in the 30, and a team in the 15 participating!

We’ll be hanging out by the start of the race waiting for the race to start from around 3pm to 7pm. We’d love to gush about our dogs and will have some MTU mushing apparel for those that would like some!

Beargrease updated its 120 placements following review of multiple discrepancies and has moved Sky up to 4th place. Incredibly impressive for her second race ever! All our mushers put in countless hours preparing and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Shoutout to all the club members who came out and spent the weekend dropping dogs and jumping between checkpoints, we really couldn’t do it without the whole club coming together!

The club made it back safely from @JBeargrease and have caught up at least a little on sleep, so here is our summary! Our 40 teams did amazing! All their dogs came over the finish looking amazing and they finished with only a 6 minute difference in time.

Currently she is placed at 8th. We’re all really proud of all our mushers as this is the first year the three of them have been in the club. We’re looking forward to the @UP200MNR as we have two mushers in the Midnight Run and even coordinated a musher in the Jackpine 30.

Beargrease 40 video! Camera died about a half hour into the run from the cold. I had one extra battery so I swapped it in for the last few miles of the run, so you miss everything in the middle here and the majority of our passes and hill climbs 🤣
