Okay but what if the reason SylusMC got separated in the tunnel, is because they got into a little fight?

Imagine they just arrived to a new planet and start doing what they usually do: find a place to stay, food, water and get familiar with the new territory. The days pass by just like how they did in any other of the places they've been, but they know they probably cannot stay here for long either.

They are always on the run because the guards from the arena are still looking for them. The problem is that, their spaceship is not in good condition anymore.

One day, they decide to find some scraps that may help repair it and start working on it. Each insist they know how to maintain it better, but maybe one wants to improvise something while the other isn't sure as they need a reliable fix for their only transportation and scape method.

Then it starts as their usual banter, but slowly turns into something a bit more serious. They both have been under constant stress from always being hunted, they are tired and during their argument MC started being more sarcastic with her remarks and maybe a comment from Sylus came out a bit meaner than intended.

"Fine, we are no longer temporary teammates!" She says turning her back to him and walking away.

Sylus is left alone inside the spaceship while MC starts walking in a random direction. It's not long when they both start feeling a bit guilty for what happened, but since they are still kids/teenagers, they're more stubborn and refuse to admit they were wrong.

Eventually MC finds a place to rest and sits down "Fiercest dummy in the Interestellar Arena indeed..." she mutters grumpily, throwing a pebble into the void.

Some hours pass and she has slowly started to fall asleep, but then she feels it. That trembling of the ground, the sound of heavy engines and in the distance, she can see the unsettling lasers coming from their pursuers spaceships.

They have found them again.

Sylus recognizes their presence too and gets ready to fight, but there's something missing by his side, or more like someone.

Even when they know they need to survive, their first reaction is to reach for the other. Whatever argument they had earlier, it doesn't matter anymore, they need to find eachother.

Sylus has no idea where she ran off to, he can only get a hint by the faint footsteps left on the sand. He turns on the engine of their poor spaceship and follows those leads.

After flying for who know how long, he can finally see MC from afar, but it's already too late, she's been caught by one of their pursuers.

"Damn it!" he grits his teeth, speeding up, trying to catch up.

Yet MC has never been one to just stay put, she's the type who fights back and who gives everything to survive, so she manages to knock the guards out of the spaceship and takes control of it.

In the distance, the deepspace tunnel appears. That's when she decides, better go there than be taken back to the arena, or worst.

"Can you keep up with me?" Sylus hears a familiar voice coming from the spaceship's intercom.

He smirks and both spaceships head inside the tunnel. "Let's talk when we get somewhere safe" he says.

They don't get too far inside when they feel their spaceships get unstable, and it all happens in a second... each of them is pulled in a different direction.

Sylus tries to go back, but he can't. He does everything but the spaceship refuses to listen to him.

She's gone and who knows where. He didn't even get to apologize for what happened, and he wonders if maybe if they hadn't argued earlier this could have been avoided.

"Will she still be mad when we meet again?"

What he never expected was that, many years later when they finally reunite, she wouldn't even remember him...

My theory/rant about why I think Sylus might've gained his memories from previous lives in the current timeline (including the MC), but specifically Beyond Cloudfall timeline or dragon myth.

I’ve seen a lot of confusion surrounding the timeline when it comes to the main story vs. the branches, so before I get into this, I want to say that I think there’s a lot of all-or-nothing thinking when, in reality, the answer is a little bit of both. The branches are, in fact, independent, but the overall findings from those branches can still impact the main story.

For example, everything that happens in the main story will happen regardless of which LI you choose, because those events connect to the overarching plot. The branches, on the other hand, are slight divergences from the main story. They take you down different pathways depending on which LI you choose, but they still circle back to the same point.

Take Prologue to Tomorrow as an example. MC is tasked by the Hunters Association with investigating the new Aether Core that has appeared and the organizations involved with it. That part of the story will happen regardless of which LI you pick. Then, based on your personal preference, you get to choose which LI you want to investigate with.

What happens within each branch is entirely independent. The events, interactions, and circumstances can all be different depending on which LI you choose. But regardless of which pathway you take, the branches eventually converge at the same point, where MC learns about the Spatium Core and the shady dealings with EVER. Which also directly sets up Caleb’s main story, Homecoming Wings.

So, in essence, yes, the branches are independent because you can choose whichever pathway you want to experience, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely disconnected from the main story. The branches diverge, but they still converge back into the overarching narrative.

Whatever the main story’s overall findings are, especially in the upcoming branch for Caleb and Sylus, can still impact and affect what happens next in the main story. The specific events of each LI’s branch don’t carry over, but the information MC discovers through them absolutely can.

So lets start a lore dive about mc and LI’s age situation. CONTAINS SPOILERS, read ar your own risk.

In “Temporary Teammates” anecdote, Sylus and MC escape the arena and land into a barren planet. They try to survive while being hunted down by the arena overlords. It is not explicitly stated but from the way they talk and behave, they appear to be around the age of 10-12. Since they reincarnated together after SWF myth, and spent years in the arena, it only makes sense for them to be the same age. Sylus’ timelock key visual shows us a small statured Sylus in the arena. He can’t be bigger or older than mc that much. Maximum 1-2 years but I insist on them being the same age.

Let’s rewind to future. Mc and Sylus gets separated, she travels through deepspace tunnel and lands into Gaia Research Center. She’s being experimented here for 41 days, Dimitri says in LaR. Then the catastrophe happens.

Again, Sylus’ timelock key visual shows us a grown up Sylus here. I believe he can’t be older than 16-18 in this image. She saves mc, Gaia gets destroyed and wanderers come in.
