@EvangelismOnlin So long story short— Why Jesus? Because Jesus offers the possibility of connection in a profoundly disconnected world. I don't know about you, but to me, that is a worthy why. @EvangelismOnlin 8/8
What’s your why? Why do you continue to choose Jesus? We discussed this in tonight's @EvangelismOnlin group discussion. Several interesting “why’s” emerged, all hovering around the idea that Jesus offers the Possibility for Connection. 1/8
@EvangelismOnlin Jesus gives a sense of belonging and calling. Christ’s invitation to participate in the Body of Christ offers a purpose and unifying mission for each person and community. Connection through belonging. @EvangelismOnlin 7/8
@KERreadstheTNK You sure seem to know everything... so tell me, what's the gestational cycle of deer and goats? Do you have your eye on what is being born and when? Let's just say your knowledge is... limited. Job39:1-2 #GodAttack#JobvGod
@EHadley2022 I don't waste my time on sending rotten energy your way. I am busy with overseeing constellations, the seasons, ya know, the entire cosmos. Job38:32 #GodAttack#JobvGod
@Hermenewt Oh I'm sorry, you think I'm just chilling all the time? Remind me, what are you doing during the sunrise each morning... just waking up? So you're not commanding the sun to rise and give life to the entire earth? Job38:12 #GodAttack#JobvGod
@er_thinks Do you like how miserable I am? It seems like you get some sick pleasure by bringing ruin to me when all those jokers are receiving your unwavering favor. Why you gotta be like that? Job10:3 #JobAttack#JobvGod
@ThortonWilliam1 I have some beef with you... why are you so obsessed with me? You are all up in my grill all.the.time. Won't you get a life? Job7:19 #JobAttack#JobvGod
So whenever you encounter any annoying male-centered nonsense that discredits women's prophetic voices simply because OT prophetic books are named after men, point them to our good friend Huldah and invite them to take a seat. #bibhb500#notallprophets
The Hebrew Bible has a lot of prophets in it-- many have canonical books named after them (Isaiah, Micah, Amos, etc.). But contrary to popular belief, #NotAllProphets in the Hebrew Bible were men. We got some women prophets in the house! #Bibhb500
Plus there are other women prophets throughout the Hebrew text (e.g. Miriam in Exodus 15, Deborah in Judges 4, Noadiah in Nehemiah 6)... So let's be real, the church really misses out when it only looks for/accepts prophetic witness from male voices. #bibhb500#notallprophets
