@RAC like synthesizers, midi use a variation of AI… there is a technology and a user. an is a technology, but one can’t consciously on copyright. again, 😈 advocate here. i’d be proud if my band sounded like the beatles. the REAL problem is royalties.

1/there is subconscious copyright infringement. this happened to George Harrison‘s "My Sweet Lord," the court found that harrison had unintentionally copied significant portions of the melody from The Chiffons' song "He's So Fine..

@dylanleclair what grinds my gears is the use of the term “empower” which has a significant, yet oblique connotation. it implies legal authority to me. and that’s not good for innovation or value creation. 🚩

Spotify's original mission was ~ to provide a legal and affordable platform for music streaming that would give users instant access to a vast catalog of music. I don’t know the exact wording, but Spotify's early goal was to ‘revolutionize’ the way people listen to music by offering a legal alternative to piracy and providing a convenient and personalized music experience. That term LEGAL always comes up.

@eldsjal @brian_armstrong My understanding - Shaw was conflicted - a Fabian/Polemic, admired dictators. I totally disagree ALL progress depends on the unreasonable man. Listen to John Lennon’s ‘Revolution’ closely, not just the lyrics but the tonality. EZ for a publicly traded Co to use this in defense.
