Each year on their day I think of this icon of the Martyrs of Libya by Nicola Sarić. Christ dresses in their same orange and gathers them into this vertical shape: "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies."
“They didn’t give a 75 years old man Insulin for four days”
Irish comedian and activist Tadhg Hickey speaks of the conditions him and other GSF activists faced, after he returned to Ireland following his detention for 5 days by the Israeli occupation.
When someone feels entitled to ask any Palestinian to condemn the horrors and crimes of October 7—after decades of brutal occupation, dispossession, massacres after massacres, torture and humiliation—I stop taking them seriously. Moral authority doesn’t come from selective memory.
Also, Piers, if nothing else, out of humility and decorum—and given your country’s historic responsibility—some questions should not be asked.

Mariam walked Jonathan Roumie through the Church of the 21 Martyrs of Libya in Egypt, sharing moments that speak louder than words.
She, and every child supported by Coptic Orphans, is a reminder of the blessings we share—whether as a donor or a sponsor.
I just watched the whole RFK Jr—Hannity interview where they discuss measles.
I don't know what to say.
I'm really just speechless.
Listening to health leadership bungle basic facts at best—and tell outright lies about long-settled science at worst—is just SO disappointing.
I understand why so many people are sick of religion. I get it.
But what’s not alright is treating all religions as equally problematic, as if they all produce the same outcomes.
If someone worships a rat and practices rituals in private, who cares? That belief has no bearing on my life, no threat to my freedoms, no impact on society.
If someone worships a rat but happens to be a criminal, a dictator, or a warlord, yet his crimes are not driven by his rat-worshipping religion, then I still have no reason to blame his faith. His atrocities are his own.
But when a religion itself is responsible for evil, when its very doctrine commands violence, subjugation, and hatred, then ignoring its role is nothing short of suicidal.
Because if that religion didn’t exist, neither would the evils it produces.
Yes, Christians have done terrible things. But were their actions commanded by Christ? No.
Christianity does not tell them to kill, rape, or dominate.
The Crusades, the Inquisitions, and other dark moments in Christian history were done in contradiction to Christ’s teachings, not in obedience to them.
Atheists have committed horrific atrocities, but atheism itself has no doctrine of conquest, no divine command to enslave or slaughter.
If a Jewish person commits an act of violence, was he motivated by Judaism? Was it a command in the Torah to do what he did? If not, then Judaism is irrelevant to his crime.
however, when a Muslim commits acts of terrorism, declares war on those who are different, rapes non-Muslim women, or subjugates others under Sharia law, is he acting against Islam’s teachings? No. He is following them.
•When he beheads an infidel, he is obeying Quran 8:12: “Strike their necks.”
•When he kills non-Muslims who refuse to submit, he is following Quran 9:29: “Fight those who do not believe in Allah.”
•When he rapes non-Muslim women, he is doing what Muhammad and his own soldiers did, as permitted in Quran 4:24.
•When he seeks to dominate and impose Islamic law, he is acting on Quran 9:33: “It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religion.”
The uncomfortable truth is that Islam isn’t just a belief system, it’s a war doctrine.
When other religions are removed from society, the evils they are blamed for do not necessarily disappear.
But if Islam were removed, so would the terrorism, the jihad, the persecution, the religious tyranny.
So no, not all religions are the same. Some bring light, some bring darkness.
And Islam, when followed properly, brings nothing but blood, conquest, and suffering.
