I’m a Turkish Cypriot, I’ve had my citizenship since 2005, the year I was born. I’ve been renewing this ID for 21 years and I still need to prove it to them every time.

I did not get to choose which side of the border I was born on, and my citizenship should not be seen as a privilege because of this
