This quote makes me sad to be on vacation. A dishwasher wins the $100 million lottery, goes home and tells his parents “I hope now you can see my vision.” Just a silly man.
Ray Liotta would've been 70 years old today.
Ray was one of the best actors of his generation, his defining role was Henry Hill in Scorsese’s Goodfellas, but it's his Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams that breaks your heart. Gaby Hoffmann's line hits hard these days.
Always had a draft party for Luke and his buddies. After Luke passed, his buddies wanted to continue the tradition. Who wouldn’t? “Mr Laufenberg, we’ll be over so order a bunch of wings and pizza” Has been neat to watch a bunch of knucklehead kids mature into…knucklehead adults.
@SportsSturm I didn’t blame Enron rank and file either. The whole company ended up being toxic and a joke - torpedoed by the very people the rank and file trusted to lead them.
@gordonkeith All silly aside, I think you’re probably not far off here. Poisoning a fan base is a great way to justify insolvency and a reason to move. Oakland will tell you.
@JaredSandler I don’t believe this. Dallas has lost franchises before yes? …and people responsible for Dallas sports are suckers, have-nots, wishers, and wannabes. Days like today prove it. LA gets it, NY gets it, we don’t. It’s not ‘bad’ it’s our identity and culture.
@badkaratemovie This may be a plan. I’m not a conspiracy guy, but if the fan base turns on the franchise, it may give the owners the ‘reason’ they need to move it. They poisoned their own well for a reason.
