I enjoyed the Cross Pollinate Tour share out yesterday. @TheMVSchool supported 7 interdisciplinary teachers to take a "STEAM" tour of St. Petersburg, FL. We gleaned so much from time together. Look for our PBL connected works this year, with the theme, "Personal Geographies".

Final day, Lauren beat out Grace in an "Impress me" throwdown, but with a lefty spin (clockwise) as opposed to a righty spin.
The "sore losers" competing for third place had to throw as many 2"x3" cylinders as they could "off the hump" Maddy won, then Emi and Emily. @TheMVSchool

Day 2 challenge: throw a donut vase. This challenge is very difficult. The vase sits upright but you throw it sideways. All 7 of the potters were able to make the vase! I have to get more and more creative to do something that's a true challenge! #MVstudios @TheMVSchool

Oh my goodness, I do love Pottery Throwdown. They blow my mind. Day 1 had an immunity round: a pair of potters had to make the tallest cylinder with one touching only inside and the other only the outside of the vessel. Then a 1 minute speed round: 4 tallest move on.

Ilhe Grade was the treat we could not have ever expected. The beach was nearly deserted. The monkeys came to visit and our island trek led us through the Atlantic rainforest, very different from the Amazonian rainforest.
