I support ex-foreign minister @abdulla_shahid's proposal, urging 🇲🇻 officials to avoid derogatory remarks about 🇮🇳 leaders. Acknowledging political shifts, the 🇲🇻 can strengthen ties through trade and investment with India, capitalizing on proximity for mutual benefit.

Derogatory remarks made by 2 Deputy Ministers of the current #Maldives Government, and a member of a political party in the ruling coalition, towards Prime Minister @narendramodi and the people of India on social media is reprehensible and odious.

I call on the Government to reprimand these officials. Public figures must maintain decorum. They must accept that they are no longer social media activists and that they are now entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the interests of the people and the country.

India is a time tested friend and an unwavering ally. They have historically been the first to respond in our time of need. Our close relationship has been bound by mutual respect, history, culture and strong people-to-people relations.

My book has been published as the first textbook of spoken Dhivehi in China. Hopefully more Chinese will get to understand this beautiful language. Appreciate to all my Maldivian friends who have helped me during the writing of this book.

Under the 20 year Master Plan for the expansion of Velana International Airport and Economic Zone Project envisioned by President Dr.@MMuizzu :

🔺Expansion of passenger terminal,designed to accommodate 25 million passengers a year
🔺Expansion of apron stands and parking spaces. Perceived expansion to increase from 37 to 73 aircrafts at a time
🔺Relocation of seaplane terminal and seaplane operator to Furanafushi Island. Development will accommodate 3 water runways and capacity for 5 seaplane operators
🔺 The very first wheel-based MRO facility at VIA
🔺Expansion of cargo terminal with forecasted storage capacity of 300,000MT by 2050
🔺New fuel farm expansion to increase storage from 15M to 45M
🔺A special terminal for both domestic and low cost carrier which accommodates more passengers
🔺The first self-contained Jet Terminal of VIA
🔺All VIA Passenger terminals will interconnected with a dedicated transport network
🔺A designated Airport Economic Zone developed on the island of Funadhoo connected via a dedicated transport network
