The country spent about UGX 1.2 trillion on the 2026 general elections. Not counting the money that was given as handouts to musicians & other entertainers, campaign facilitation etc etc. The government has to get that money back and more, and guess who is going to pay 🥹 Also remember Uganda’s public debt is now around UGX 116 trillion.
