Halima Ahmad Katun is an Energy and Electricity Lawyer, Policy Consultant, and sustainability advocate with a passion for shaping legal and regulatory frameworks that advance responsible resource governance, energy access, environmental stewardship, and inclusive development.
She practices with Ahmed Raji SAN & Co., where she advises and represents clients on regulatory, commercial, and dispute resolution matters. She is also the Founder of Hakatun Energies & Consultancy, a multidisciplinary consultancy providing legal advisory, policy research, regulatory compliance, environmental and social safeguarding, and capacity-building services across the energy and natural resources sectors.
Haleemah holds an LL.M. in Energy and Natural Resources Law and Policy, where her research focused on community rights and stakeholder engagement in the mining sector. She is a graduate of the Electricity Lawyer Academy and a Designate Compliance Professional (DCP) of the Compliance Institute, Nigeria.
She serves as the Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) Energy, Natural Resources and Environment Committee and has contributed to energy and development initiatives with organizations including the West African Power Pool (WAPP).
A serial volunteer, public speaker, writer, and Editor-in-Chief of Literature Voices, Haleemah is committed to fostering meaningful dialogue on energy law, regulatory governance, and sustainable development. She believes the law should do more than regulate industries, it should strengthen institutions, expand access to opportunity, and create lasting impact for communities.
