@TimesLIVE R48k loan. 18 years, R300k paid. Still owing R55k. That's R355k on R48k principal. Even at prime+2% over 20 years, total repayment shouldn't exceed R150k. This only works if penalty interest compounded on arrears. Needs a proper audit.
