Metaplanet Sets 85%–90% Bitcoin Allocation, Adds 10%–15% for Strategic Investments

Metaplanet revised its capital allocation policy, targeting roughly 85%–90% of total assets in Bitcoin and 10%–15% in strategic investments including M&A, income-generating securities and asset-management strategies. The company held 44,000 BTC as of September 30.

Bitcoin-related borrowings will generally be kept below about 10% of BTC NAV, while common-stock issuance will be used selectively when mNAV is above 1.0x. Metaplanet also introduced a Net Interest Income Strategy to generate recurring cash flow that can support further Bitcoin accumulation.

Italian Private Banking Giant Fideuram Hit by AI Voice Scam, at Least €36 Million Converted Into Crypto

According to the Italian media outlet Milano, in February 2026, former Fideuram Chairman Paolo Molesini received a WhatsApp message impersonating Carlo Messina, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, followed by a phone call using an AI-generated voice impersonating lawyer Paolo Nastasi. Fideuram is the private banking subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo, one of Italy’s largest banking groups.

Molesini then instructed the finance department to transfer approximately €95 million to accounts in mainland China, Hong Kong and other locations. Fideuram later recovered around €40 million, while Portuguese authorities froze an additional €13 million. At least €36 million was subsequently converted into crypto after multiple overseas transfers, and investigators are tracing the funds through international judicial cooperation.

Molesini was not investigated and resigned as chairman on March 12, citing “personal reasons.”

Here is a letter which Lt. Mabonga Herbert Matanda wrote to Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi while he was in that torture chamber, where he spent 19 days. He passed on the original letter to him, but took a picture of it, which he released yesterday.

Mabonga represents thousands of senior, mid-level and junior officers in all departments of UPDF, police and intelligence services who vehemently oppose the criminal system but are held captive and cannot speak out. The only difference is that Mabonga had the courage to speak out. We have long told the people of Uganda that each time we're arrested or abducted, these officers will approach us and tell us how they're more disgusted by the system than most people can imagine.

Those who agree with the system and its atrocities are a very small fraction who are privileged and benefit from the pervasive corruption and nepotism within the forces. I remain hopeful that one day, the patriotic officers will have enough courage to stand with the oppressed people of Uganda and live true to their oath to pay allegiance to the nation of Uganda and not the falling regime of blood and national shame. UGANDA WILL BE FREE!

CZ: A Single Tweet Could Not Have Caused FTX to Collapse

On September 25, 2026, Binance founder CZ @cz_binance said in an interview with When Shift Happens @KevinWSHPod that a single tweet could not directly cause a well-run company to collapse, and that FTX’s problems stemmed from its own liquidity shortfall and the misuse of customer funds.

He said that at the time, he had only publicly disclosed Binance’s plan to gradually sell its remaining FTT holdings and did not expect the announcement to have such a significant impact. CoinDesk had already reported earlier that FTX might be insolvent.

THORChain Rejects Bitget’s Call to Block Attacker Funds After $387.5M Hack

THORChain responded to Bitget after CEO Gracy Chen called on the protocol to refuse service to addresses linked to attackers from Bitget’s September 24 security breach, which involved about $387.5 million in stolen assets. THORChain said its network halt mechanism is designed to protect the protocol as a whole, not to selectively freeze specific addresses or individual swaps. It added that even during its own $10.7 million exploit in May, attacker addresses were not blacklisted, and reiterated that the protocol is permissionless by design.
