Governor Mutula Donates Land for Construction of Modern Hospital in Utangwa

📍 Utangwa, Mbooni - 11th October 2025

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has donated land for the construction of a modern maternity hospital in Utangwa, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the county.

During the same visit, Governor Mutula formally handed over a title deed for the Utangwa Police Station and announced plans to install high-mast floodlights in the area to enhance community safety and security.

The Governor made the announcements while addressing residents at Utangwa Catholic Parish during a fundraising event, accompanied by Mbooni Member of Parliament Nzioka Kivasu.

Governor Mutula also urged residents to register as voters, expressing concern over the low voter registration turnout.
As Vice Chairperson of the Wiper Patriotic Front, he assured all prospective aspirants of a free, fair, and transparent nomination process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Governor Mutula Backs Konza City's Vision, Urges Fast-Tracking of Key Infrastructure Projects

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. on Monday joined President William Ruto at Konza City for the official launch of Phase One of strategic infrastructure projects critical to the development of the Technopolis.

Governor Mutula expressed confidence in the realization of Konza City’s transformative vision, lauding the recent legislation on Konza Technopolis as “a step in the right direction.” He urged the national government to fast-track the implementation of key infrastructure components to unlock the city’s full potential.

He particularly emphasized the need to construct the proposed Konza International Airport and to integrate a Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) station within Konza City to enhance accessibility and regional connectivity.

In response to the governor’s concerns, President Ruto announced that the government is already implementing plans to dual the Mombasa Highway between Malili and Emali, and reaffirmed the national government’s commitment to linking the SGR with Konza Technopolis in the next phase of development.
