Someone asked me why I looked old or older in my Kibera photos compared to Now, this was my house when Legendary @NaziziHirji visited me in 2009. Looking to how youths are being used badly as goons let me tell those who don’t understand coz it’s clear most of you may not fully grasp the reality of life in the informal settlements so allow me to offer you a lived synopsis.

The slums age me long before the world ever gave me a fair chance. By 18, I carried the weight of decades not because I wanted to, but because I had to.

Spending your first 25 years in a place where poverty is normalized doesn’t just shape you it scars you. Not only through the absence of basic needs, but through the constant dehumanization even from relatives who distance themselves once they move beyond those streets. You’re criminalized by default. Watched, profiled, and blamed before you’re ever seen or heard.
There is no access to food security, no reliable healthcare, no consistent education, and certainly no financial safety net. Just the brutal mathematics of survival.

And survival isn’t free it demands your innocence, your dreams, and often, your spirit. It ages you. It erodes your sense of wonder. It kills the child in you before he ever knows what freedom feels like.
But somehow, I found a way out. Music became my escape not just an art form, but a form of resistance. Through it, I found my own . I reclaimed my voice. And in doing so, I began the slow work of reinstalling my soul.

This is why ending poverty is not charity it is justice. It is the restoration of dignity and the protection of every child’s right to simply be a child.
If this doesn’t happen the goons will never ever go away and your favorite politician probably knows this and it excites him.

🧅 Layer 1: Safaricom’s Domination – The Digital Monolith
•Sh819B market cap puts it >5× larger than the next contender (Equity Bank).
•It’s not just a telecom company — it’s the unofficial Central Bank of retail Kenya, via M-Pesa.
•Safaricom’s size reflects the outsized importance of mobile money, not productivity or innovation per se.
•What it tells us:
Kenya’s most valuable asset is a payments toll booth.
Not a manufacturer. Not a logistics company. Not an energy or agricultural innovator.

🧅 Layer 2: Banks Rule Everything Around Me (B.R.E.A.M.)
•Of the top 7, 6 are banks.
All dependent on interest income, government securities, and consumer overdrafts.
•Their large market caps don’t reflect innovation — they reflect their position in the debt cycle:
Government borrows. Banks buy bonds. Citizens pay taxes.
Rinse. Repeat.
•Their dominance is a symptom of:
•A low-innovation economy
•Lack of capital markets depth
•A government that crowds out private borrowing

🧅 Layer 3: Vanishing Private Enterprise
•Where are Kenya’s great private manufacturing or tech firms?
•EABL (Sh137B) is legacy colonial capital, now mostly Diageo-owned. It’s liquor + brand inertia.
•No new industrial giant. No energy innovator. No vertically integrated agro-exporter.

Absence speaks volumes.

Kenya’s capital markets don’t reward enterprise — they reward gatekeeping and government dependence.

🧅 Layer 4: Market Cap ≠ Real Economy

This list does not reflect real economic pain:
•KES has lost 50%+ vs USD in 5 years.
•SMEs are being crushed by taxes, levies, and lack of credit.
•Inflation-adjusted wages are falling.
•These companies look “valuable” — but only in KES terms, which are melting.

A Sh819B company in 2025 might be worth less in USD than it was at Sh500B in 2020.

🧅 Layer 6: The Structural Lie of Diversification
•On paper, Kenya has multiple “sectors” in the NSE.
•In reality, it’s banks + Safaricom + everyone else bleeding.
•When the same players dominate the index for a decade, it signals capital is not being recycled into innovation — it’s being hoarded.

Kenya isn’t diversifying. It’s entrenching rentier incumbents.

🧅 Layer 7: Global Investors Already Know This
•Foreign capital outflows from NSE have accelerated.
•Institutional investors prefer to buy Safaricom and FX out — not hold long-term KES risk.
•That’s why Safaricom trades like a bond and why no Kenyan unicorn gets NSE-listed.

The market itself doesn’t believe in its own future — it’s arbitraging currency erosion.

🧠 Bottom Line:

Kenya’s capital markets are top-heavy, rent-seeking, and fiat-constrained.

In my humble opinion, 99.99% of people in government today have ZERO redeeming qualities.

ZERO.

All Kenyans must understand the nature of the problem we face today.

In the first clip attached, @OsoroSylvanus - the man who brought you Finance Bill of 2024 (with his sidekicks @KuriaKimaniMP and @KIMANIICHUNGWAH) is telling you that if you are an MP and want to travel abroad on taxpayer funds for whatever reason, you must pass by his office and leave him his cut.

That's how it works. You want to take your "mchipuko" to Dubai or Singapore? No problem. Just leave him his cut, and you are good.

He says that on the clip. @EACCKenya can hear it. @Senate_KE can hear it. @NAssemblyKE can hear it. @WilliamsRuto can hear it. Even @RailaOdinga - in between his customary intelligible hysterics, can hear it.

Heck, a dead person can hear it.

Because nobody gives a flying you know what about the average Kenyan, these thieves in office spend much of their time in office on travel. Wining and dining, calling themselves 'mhesh".

The practice is the same at all levels of government.

Take a look at travel by @KiambuCountyGov for example. in 2023-2024.

(1) October 15-28 Training on Advanced parliamentary
theory and practice programme in Uganda. Cost: KSH 6.6 million. 7 people travelled.

(2) October 15-28 Training on Advanced parliamentary theory and practice programme in Tanzania. Cost: KSH 6.6 million. 7 people travelled.

The above trips happen at the same time, in different countries, and are the same topic. Featuring same number or people.

Next few trips:

19th-2nd December 2023. Training on Leadership Development Skills in Tanzania, 8 people travelling. Cost: KSH 7.6 million

19-26 November 2023. Training on Leadership Development Skills in Ethiopia, 7 people travelling. Cost: KSH 6.1 million

10-15 December 2023. Training on Leadership Development Skills in Dubai, 7 people travelling. Cost: KSH 5.1 million

3-16 December 2023. Training on Leadership Development Skills in Tanzania, 7 people travelling. Cost: KSH 6.8 million

3-16 December 2023. Training on Leadership Development Skills in Tanzania, 9 people travelling. Cost: KSH 8.4 million

4-11 February 2024. Training on Leadership Development Skills in Dubai, 7 people travelling. Cost: KSH 6.2 million

The same damn course, at the same time, or weeks apart, in different cities and countries.

This stupidity, cost the citizens of @KiambuCountyGov KSH 91 million in 2023-2024 alone.

The same stupidity is repeated in virtually every county, and at the national level.

I have never seen a group of people deplorables who cannot function without travelling for training, on someone else's dime. You tell us you are the most qualified while running for office - but as soon as you are elected, you need billions upon billions on "training and leadership" - and of course you have never heard of ZOOM.

We have people - young Kenyans - who are not getting the help they deserve to gain skills necessary to become productive members of the economy, in this country.

Patients are sharing beds in hospitals - which have no medicine or equipment.

USAID gave Kenya the equivalent of KSH 90 billion in 2024. The US government decides to cut that off, and y'all are whining like babies about the lost aid, and yet you are squandering trillions on stupidity.

You people are dumb as hell.
