Orang dewasa punya standar tinggi kalau ketemu anak kecil.
Di mata orang dewasa, anak harus ceria, harus mau respon segala pertanyaan, harus mau salim, harus mengikuti norma sosial dengan perfect.
Anak kecil teriak dikit
"Gak diajarin ortunya ya?"
Anak kecil nangis
"Kok cengeng sih?"
Anak kecil slow to warm up
"Masih kecil udah introvert ya"
Anak kecil ikut ortu nongkrong, bosen, butuh input stimulus lain
"Rewel ya ternyata"
Kata gw mah elu yg rewel. Udah dewasa tapi judgemental banget ke anak-anak. Anak kecil tuh sedang belajar memahami dirinya sekaligus memahami dunia yang semua isinya tuh besar-besar. It gets too overwhelmed sometimes. It's a part of the growth process. Mari kita jadi orang dewasa yg wajar gitu lho.
This Harvard & MIT paper quietly punctures one of the biggest myths in AI.
People keep saying LLMs are becoming scientists. This paper actually tests that claim instead of assuming it’s true. The question isn’t whether models can talk about science. It’s whether they can do science.
The researchers didn’t use trivia or clean benchmarks. They forced models to run through the real discovery loop: forming hypotheses, designing experiments, interpreting messy results, and revising beliefs when the evidence pushes back.
That’s where things get uncomfortable.
LLMs can propose plausible hypotheses, but once experiments enter the picture, performance drops fast. Models latch onto surface patterns, struggle to walk away from bad ideas, and try to explain failures instead of learning from them.
Confidence becomes a liability.
One of the most important findings is that benchmark dominance means very little here. Models that crush reasoning leaderboards often fail when asked to iterate, deal with noise, and update theories over time.
Science doesn’t reward clever first answers. It rewards correction.
What this paper makes clear is that scientific intelligence isn’t the same thing as language intelligence. Discovery depends on memory, causal reasoning, restraint, and the ability to say “this was wrong” without spinning a story around it.
LLMs today can write like scientists and sound like experts. They just don’t behave like scientists yet.
That gap is the real takeaway, and it’s why this paper matters.

ledakan api terjadi atas kombinasi:
Oksigen + Gas + Pemicu
Yuval Harari just published a piece on Zionism in the @washingtonpost. He argues:
"Nothing in this Zionist idea implies that Jews are superior to others, whether they are Greeks or Poles — or Palestinians." @harari_yuval
A short🧵.
RE this dumbass marketing thing. Yes, we don’t have a credited marketer. I know it’s weird. We paid A LOT of money to trial the industry’s best agencies for this shit and they came up with nothing good. We learned some genuinely meaningful, replicable things from it.
“Everything is marketing, actually” is literally as reductive as “marketing is dead”
Except the latter one is interesting because it forces you to think laterally and responsively about an industry that is in a massive state of flux that it cannot keep up with. So it’s up to the individual to pick which way they want to look at it. Personally I don’t care which lens people see it through but I do know which one will help you compete, and reach audiences in a more authentic way.
For the longest time we’ve soft-banned the word ‘product’, and yeah, you get a lot of people going “actually, it is a product, cringe!” But what that successfully forced us to do was think outside of the product pipeline. Needless to say, this has been formative. Language is powerful because it frames how you think. And that’s why I think it’s healthy to believe that marketing is dead. Another formative, foundational value that allows me & my team to think laterally, outside of the traditional, crumbling product pipeline.
You will have to think laterally and responsively over the next few years. The traditional modes & methods will continue to become less relevant and in some cases lead to unfortunate failures.
Take whatever you want from any of this, but I promise you it’s much healthier to look at things through the lens of what’s coming, rather than what’s now. 🕺

Inalilahi wainalilahi rojiun. Belasungkawa saya untuk keluarga almarhum dokter Sunardi. Ini adalah hari yang amat kelam dan melukai semua orang yang percaya serta berharap pada keadilan.
