On behalf of @kmpdu I bear the heavy duty of announcing the death of Dr.Mike Monari.
He had just completed his Internship at Meru Level 5 hospital and was headed home in Nakuru after clearing with the Medical Council in Nairobi when he met his untimely ending through a RTA.
Mike as he was fondly referred to by his peers was a brilliant doctor,so friendly, always happy and making everyone around him laugh.
He was such a kind soul,full of life.
During this painful moment our hearts go out to his family and all those who loved him.May they be consoled by the promised resurrection morning when we shall meet our loved ones again.
Rest In Peace Champ!!

Together with my team, I appeared at the Kahawa Law Courts in solidarity with youth who were arrested in Gilgil Town and other places over the June 25th Protests. The case was up for ruling whether the youth should be granted bail or bond.

Ruto's government is clearly weaponizing the Criminal Justice System to terrorize the arrested youth and their families. The reckless use of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, and ATPU is a violation of or a significant threat to Kenyans freedom of assembly and expression; the right not to be arbitrarily detained or denied bail; freedom and security of the person.

Leading the team of advocates present,we pleaded with the Court to grant reasonable bail terms, given that most of the young people have irregular incomes.

The Court granted varying bail and bond in the 3 court files- varying from 200,000/- bond or cash bail of 50,000/-,

We stand firm in solidarity with Kenyans who stand up against the excesses of a regime that has lost legitimacy. We shall not relent in protecting the right to peaceful assembly as guaranteed by the Constitution.
