I don’t engage in political conversations as much anymore because too many liberals, especially Black liberals, seem more invested in fame, name recognition, and representation than actual political substance.
A Black face in office does not automatically mean Black liberation. Too many Black voters continue supporting candidates who protect capitalism, corporate power, and the same systems that exploit working-class Black people. Even when leftists present evidence, voting records, donors, and policy outcomes, it often gets ignored because the candidate is popular, familiar, or knows how to perform representation.
Representation without economic liberation is not progress. A Black politician who serves capital will still help maintain the same system harming Black people.
