@StoolGreenie We sure the “approach” is even related to the trade? Perhaps it’s about the way the team plays/is built? He said after the year it was “not always analytically pleasing” + his back & forth with Marks on analytics. Maybe the “approach” he’s frustrated with is their play style.

@John_Karalis As @AProskauer pointed out above, that’s because BOS & NYK both made the quarterfinals last year and lost. The losers of the quarterfinals automatically play each other. So that’s also predetermined and isn’t comparable to the 22 teams that miss the quarterfinals altogether.

@John_Karalis There’s actually a specific formula on how the NBA determines the eliminated teams. CLE wouldn’t be an option, because BOS already plays them 4X this year. The opponents will be a team they only play 3X (meaning DET, IND & WSH would be the possibilities)

@daverichard @matdon460 You said “Jamaal Williams 4/4 inside the 5.” Does that not mean Williams had every NO RB snap from inside the 5? That’s how I read it that no other NO RB had a snap inside the 5, but Kamara did. If I read it wrong, then I’m not sure what else “Williams 4/4 inside the 5” means.

@daverichard They’re kind of the same thing in this case. Meaning, a player can’t log a carry unless he’s on the field for the snap. The Saints had the ball at the 5, snapped it, and handed it to Kamara for a 2 yard carry. By virtue of getting the carry, he was also on the field for the snap.

@daverichard Thanks! Data may be off then w/ Williams 4/4 inside the 5. I had sworn I saw Kamara have a carry near the goal line when watching live earlier, and upon double checking the box score it does indicate at the 2:11 mark of the 1st Q Kamara had a 2 yard carry from the 5 yard line.

They have another same city B2B. LAC/LAL on 1/22 & 1/23. Maybe you meant same opponent, but technically LAC/LAL is another same city B2B.

@DanLifshatz @nbastats I’m pretty sure the way scoring works in the NBA is if the other team accidentally hits the ball into the basket, which is what happens here, the basket is credited to whoever is closest to the hoop at the time the ball goes through the cylinder. In this case, that was Knight
