Every time I come online, I see people talking about the future of our country, especially because of the rise of cybercrime (Yahoo boys) among young people.
But I think we are asking the wrong question.
It’s not just them who are at risk, it’s actually us.
Many people assume that those involved in fraud will eventually face consequences and suffer for it.
Maybe that is true in a moral or spiritual sense.
But in reality, looking at the current state of our country, only a few will face those consequences here in this world.
The deeper issue is what their actions are doing to society.
When large amounts of unregulated money enter the system, it begins to distort everything especially housing, lifestyle, business costs, and general expectations of living.
Prices no longer reflect real economic value, instead they reflect who can pay the most, regardless of how the money was made.
And that’s where the real damage happens.
The average person, the one trying to live honestly is the one who takes the hit.
If a landlord knows someone can pay ₦1.2M for a house, they won’t rent it for ₦500K out of fairness.
The market adjusts to the highest bidder.
The same thing applies to cars, fashion, and even basic services.
So over time, the cost of living rises beyond what honest income can sustain.
This creates a silent pressure:
People who are doing things the right way begin to feel like they are falling behind, even when they are working hard.
And that’s the real psychological and economic damage.
You start to see it everywhere not just in big cities like Lagos, but even in smaller towns in the deep bush of Ekiti, Oyo and Abia .
Places that used to be affordable are gradually becoming expensive, not because productivity increased, but because spending patterns changed.
That’s how the problem spreads.
It’s not just about crime anymore it becomes a system-wide issue driven by:
distorted demand
unchecked greed
and a broken economic structure
And in the middle of all this, the honest majority is the one to take the fall.
The danger is not just that crime exists.
The danger is that it quietly resets the standard of living in a way that makes normal, honest progress feel insufficient.
If nothing changes, more people will struggle to afford basic things like housing, education, and starting a business even with legitimate income.
So the real question is not:
“Will they suffer for what they are doing?”
The real question is:
“How do we prevent a system where doing the right thing becomes the hardest way to survive?”
Because if we don’t address that, the long-term impact will be much bigger than the individuals involved.
The time to think about it is now.

How is Lurkey integrated into Zyber’s ecosystem?
@monitalan wanted to know how @TeamLurky is being integrated into @Xyberinc ecosystem and what functionality or access users would have.
This is a clip of @xFactorPOL explaining how @TeamLurky tech works within @Xyberinc.
Endgame agent deployment on @Xyberinc
The Endgame Agent is designed to do one thing well: lock in profits.
Built on Xyber’s infrastructure, it’s currently finishing backtesting with strong performance and is being prepared for public rollout.
This is the first of many agentic tools deploying on the ecosystem.
There’s no way I’m forgetting this definition of @Xyberinc that @DCBK2LA explained, it is accurate, funny, and straight to the point.
