@MenchOsint It's very evident you feel uncomfortable about this hit and desperately look for rationalizations. There is hope. May be one day you'll find the strength to escape the rabbit hole of hatred you are in. Your life will be much better without it.
@landryst@KlingBlog@danwilliamsphil The Enlightenment thinkers (Locke, Rousseau, Voltaire, Kant, Montesquieu) held a much more nuanced view on censorship. They distinguished between "civilized men" and the "lower classes" or "savages," believing the elite should guide public discourse.
@dollarsanddata As someone who lived through a societal collapse, I'd say this perspective is a bit naive. Physical gold and jewelry will definitely have value. Not a gold ETF of course....
@MiddleEastEye@paulg It's fascinating to see how social media messes even with the minds of intelligent and educated people like @paulg . It began with legitimate concern about the war in Gaza, continued with joining the echo chamber and devolved into the cesspool of half-truths, lies and fakes.

@lessin It's clear that algorithmic social messes with people's minds and is addictive. What else is addictive and messes with people's minds? Drugs. Yet, mass distribution of information is open to malicious actors while distribution of drugs is limited to thustworthy entities. FFT.
@benedictevans I bet this project is a brainchild of the marketing department rather than a research project. They care about leads and not accuracy of predictions...
@joshelman Ah, Eudora!... I'd say unified global addressing system was more important to the success of email than SMTP. Rather than being deliberately designed, it naturally emerged from how you addressed users on UNIX machines connected over TCP. Some interesting lessons here.
