Having trouble swallowing the cherry crime and jobs numbers being pumped out of the White House?
Me too. Here's why.

The BLS jobs report is made up of two surveys: The Establishment survey (bosses) And the Household survey (workers).

The bosses claimed +272,000 jobs were CREATED last month. (Mostly part-time jobs.)

The workers reported they LOST -625,000 full-time jobs last month and picked up +287,000 part-time jobs.

The media reported the boss's number.

The FBI stats are made up of two reports: The NIBRS (cops) and the National Crime Victimization survey (people).

Last year, the cops reported that violent crime  FELL -2%.

People, on the other hand, reported a 42% RISE in violent crime victimization.

The media reported the cops' number.

The surveys within the crime and jobs reports generally have tracked with each other over the years. Curiously, they don't anymore.

So when the government and the media types tell you you don't know what you're talking about, you tell them to go back to their clubhouse. Because you're busy just trying to make it through the day.
