I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the endorsement of the Movimiento Victoria Ciudadana (MVC) Diaspora Network.
My involvement with MVC has always been rooted in a simple belief: our communities deserve a voice, whether we live on the island or in the diaspora. As a Puerto Rican raised on the Lower East Side, I know that our struggles, our culture, and our future are deeply connected across borders.
I got involved because MVC represents values that resonate with me: self-determination, democracy, transparency, social justice, and the belief that ordinary people should have power over the decisions that shape their lives. These are the same values that have guided my work as an organizer, advocate, and candidate.
The Puerto Rican diaspora has a responsibility not only to celebrate our culture, but to stand in solidarity with the people of Puerto Rico in the fight for dignity, economic justice, and a future free from austerity and displacement.
This endorsement means so much because it comes from people who believe in building a different kind of politics, one that is accountable to community, not political machines; one that values participation over exclusion; and one that understands that real change comes from the ground up.
Thank you to the @mvcdiaspora for your trust, your partnership, and your commitment to a better future for Puerto Ricans everywhere. Together, we will continue building bridges between our communities and fighting for justice on both sides of the water.
New: Investigators found that leaders of a prison gang in Puerto Rico were selling inmates drugs in exchange for voting for Gov. Jenniffer González-Colón, a longtime Republican. After Trump’s election, prosecutors were told not to pursue charges. https://t.co/W5STcmWguR

Continued political participation by the Puerto Rican U.S. diaspora is vital.
Our diaspora holds power in two places: In local communities, where federal policies shape our life, and in Congress, where decisions about Puerto Rico are made.
Write to your Congressman and vote!
THE PUERTO RICAN DIASPORA IS NOT JUST AN AUDIENCE. IT IS A POLITICAL FORCE.
Tomorrow during the #SuperBowl , Puerto Rico will appear on one of the world’s biggest stages.
But Puerto Rican presence in the United States is not only cultural, but also political.
By calling and writing our members of Congress, voting in this year’s midterm elections, and organizing within our communities, we can transform cultural visibility into sustained political pressure, making it harder for Congress to ignore Puerto Rico’s demands.

On #SuperBowl weekend, Puerto Rican culture will be in one of the world’s biggest stages and across national conversations. Our music, language and stories continue to travel far beyond the archipelago.
But cultural visibility does not equal political representation.
Despite our global cultural influence, Puerto Rico remains a U.S. colony. Decisions that shape daily life on the archipelago are still made without our consent. Federal policies continue to dictate our economic, political and social conditions.
@sanbenito made history tonight.
The first Spanish-language album to win Album of the Year — rooted in our language, our culture, our stories. This is for everyone who has been told to tone it down or translate themselves.
Felicidades Benito, gracias por llevarnos contigo. 🇵🇷🏆

A national response is necessary to confront state violence. Following the deadly force used against civilians by federal agents, including Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and Silverio Villegas González, communities are organizing a coordinated civic and economic shutdown.
