Watch out for the “emotional prosperity gospel”—the lie that spiritual maturity means you never feel sadness, anxiety, or the weight of past wounds.
Real maturity isn’t the absence of struggle, but trusting Christ in the midst of it.
@kyleworley I know a lot of college students (including myself) that really benefitted from REH to find balance when life in college was a race to stuff your resume. I and many others wouldn’t have established sustainable spiritual disciplines amongst other commitments without that book.
@kyleworley In my opinion, Narnia should be read as a child coming to faith, experiencing God, and growing in their faith. The way you outline is set up too much as a biblical theologians way of reading and potentially stifles the full experience of the books that flow as original published.
What a blessing it was to join @pbethancourt and several leaders from @CentralBCS on a trip to care for our missionaries in Europe. Seeing the faithfulness of these men and women was so encouraging. God is at work in Ireland, Portugal, and the Czech Republic!
Sorry, but no nuance, past claims of injustice, or “yeah but” can justify this pure evil. Geopolitical conflicts are emblematic of the age we live in, but targeting civilians and non-combatants is unjustifiable and wicked. I pray that retributive justice is swiftly executed. https://t.co/9qWFQxv10C
"we should pay special attention to violence directed toward Israel—just as we would pay special attention to a violent attack on a member of our extended family...Rage against the Jewish people is rage against him, and, because we are in him, against us."

What a great annual meeting at #SBC23!
Good friends. Good food. Good decisions. Good times.
I continue to be encouraged by the current direction of the SBC, despite those that would attempt to convince us otherwise
