To #bced teachers who have not been vaccinated: Please take steps now to start the process. The BCTF will support a provincial vaccine mandate if it is implemented by the employer or PHO. It’s the right thing to do to help end the pandemic #bcpoli thread⬇️

Can someone explain how people think their immune system is powerful enough to deal with a virus that has killed over 4.5 million people but not powerful enough to deal with a vaccine that over 3.4 billion people (basically half the world) has already received AND survived?
Teachers need to be a part of the #bced contact tracing process. There are too many inconsistencies when this is not the case. This would ensure a thoroughness to the process. #bcpoli
These protests are not only demoralizing to the hardworking hospital staff, but they endanger the well-being of patients and their caregivers.
Hospitals are no place for these protests.
Healthcare workers: We thank you and we stand with you.
Really hoping that @keithbaldrey takes the time to learn how unions work and the difference between an employer and a democratically organized advocacy group like the @BCNursesUnion
So we're dealing with an even more infectious variant and hundreds of thousands of kids who aren't eligible for vaccination are heading back to class next week with fewer protections than last year... have I got this right? #bced#wtf
You can’t go whale watching if you don’t wear a PFD.
You can’t ride a coaster if you don’t wear a harness.
You can’t go to the concert if you don’t have the vaccine.
None of these are a violation of your rights. They are safety rules.
Your RIGHT is to choose NOT to go.
This is the precise problem with the current #bced mask policy. It puts unreasonable pressure on primary teachers to encourage mask-wearing to keep kids, not eligible for vaccinations, safe. #bcpoli
The B.C. government has finally provided some more comprehensive vaccine data to the general public.
Continues to show the importance of getting vaccinated.
This most difficult of #bced school years is finally over (congratulations to all!), but the @sd61schools board and senior staff problems continue —IndigiNews https://t.co/IvK80eXY4r
New Post - How do we possibly say thanks? "Public education is not just a facet of society, it is the very fabric upon which our society is built. At the heart of that fabric is the people who make it come to life." https://t.co/gsFOVT0UrN #sd36learn#leadership#edchat#bced
As always, @jordantinney has something thoughtful and articulate to share. (And in response to his Q, the BC govt apparently says thanks by forcing school boards to make #bced budget/staffing cuts.) #bcpoli
This is an indication of just how stressful it is to be a #bced teacher given the lack of responsiveness from gov't/PHO: Desperate times are leading to desperate measures for teachers who are concerned #COVID-19 will get them before they get the vaccine. https://t.co/ef0TCJ8n4k
@richardzussman and @keithbaldrey please ask @adriandix or Bonnie Henry why teachers over 55 are being denied the AstraZeneca vaccine. There is no "pause" for that demographic. @bctf
@adriandix@pattibacchus as a 60 year old teacher I am feeling a little forgotten. There is no "pause" for AstraZeneca in my demographic. So, why are we be denied the vaccine?
