⭕️ Hamas: Aid trucks entering Gaza “do not meet even the minimum basic needs”

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem says the trucks Israel allows into Gaza “do not meet at all the minimum basic needs” of the population. He says most trucks permitted through are for the commercial sector and carry “supplementary materials that are not necessary for citizens amid the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.”

Qassem says Gaza needs large volumes of essential relief goods that match the scale of a crisis affecting more than two million people. What is entering now, he adds, “does not cover shelter needs,” especially with winter and severe weather approaching. Existing tents and shelter centers, he notes, are “unfit for human habitation and cannot withstand harsh winter conditions.”

He calls for a “real change in what is allowed in,” prioritizing items that meet actual needs, particularly winter shelter. Qassem also points out that mobile homes (caravans) were agreed upon in the January humanitarian protocol and reaffirmed in the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement, yet none have been allowed in.

He urges mediators and relevant states to act seriously and urgently to bring in caravans before new storms hit, warning that without immediate action the Strip will face a repeat of the severe humanitarian disasters seen in previous winters.
