During our recent school visits, we had the pleasure of meeting the inspiring Headteacher, Koos Mohamed Ali, at Sh. Yousuf Al-Kownayn Primary School in Hargeysa, Somaliland.
Headteacher Koos is rarely in her office, choosing instead to engage with students outside in the playground. Her dedication shines as she goes above and beyond to support students.
Her hands-on and compassionate leadership is truly remarkable! #Education #Leadership #Somalilan
Climbing up one of the Naasa Hablood peaks with the @SahamiyeFdn team was an incredibly special moment๐งก๐๐พ
From the top you can enjoy breathtaking views over Hargeysa, #Somaliland. Simply stunning ๐

Today I spoke at the 30th annual @Wharton Africa Business Forum conference. It was inspiring to see so many Africans striving to make a difference. No wonder the African Union has recognized the diaspora as Africa's 6th region.
I also met many WorldRemit customers, including a sizable group from Zimbabwe, one of our first markets in Africa.
Leading camels by day and learning Somali by night๐ซ๐ฒ๐
Inspiring to see the dedication of these camel herders who are self-learning to read and write with Daariz.
Daariz is a virtual classroom for anyone who wants to improve their #literacy, no matter background or location.
๐ขToday we published our open letter to @DeLaRuePlc CEO regarding their contract with Bank of Somaliland to print 380 billion SL shillings.
The contract raises serious economic, ethical, and legal concerns, risking putting millions in deeper poverty. Read our letter for details.
Meet Basra ๐
She uses Daariz to improve her literacy skills whilst working in Hargeysa's Habane Market.
Daariz offers bite-size lessons with audio tuition to make it easy for people to fit learning into their daily life.๐๐
