The #BBNJ PrepCom wrapped up its final session today and will be forwarding to the first BBNJ COP, for its consideration, draft texts relating to rules of procedure, subsidiary bodies, financial matters and the secretariat, among other matters.
As the #BBNJ Agreement PrepCom commences the second week of its third session, delegations are continuing discussions on key issues for the effective implementation of the Agreement, including COP rules of procedure, financial rules and arrangements for the secretariat.
The third session of the #BBNJ PrepCom wrapped up its first week following progress made on critical issues, including the COP rules of procedures, terms of reference for subsidiary bodies, and the operationalization of provisions on financial resources and mechanism.

The third session of the #BBNJ Agreement PrepCom opened today.
With the BBNJ Agreement now in force, the work of the Commission - to prepare for the first COP and the implementation of the Agreement - has never been more important.
The third session of the #BBNJ Agreement PrepCom commences next week at UNHQ. States, IGOs and other stakeholders will continue critical discussions to operationalize the #BBNJAgreement and prepare for the first Conference of the Parties.
