We’re about to spend $300,000,000,000 rebuilding Iran after spending $80,000,000,000 destroying it, while telling Americans on Medicaid to take a hike.
America First.
As I’ve said consistently for several years now, one of the best ways to protect your heart health is to keep up with your Covid vaccinations. And as I also say, remember the antivaccine activists don’t care about you or your family, they have another agenda https://t.co/Zp3pgFZVOn
Gary Oldman accepted THE FIFTH ELEMENT (1997) as a favor to Luc Besson and reportedly never even read the script beforehand. Then he showed up as Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg and delivered one of the most gloriously performances in sci-fi history.
“Where is Vader today?”
“He’s paying the Rebel Alliance $300 billion dollars after defeating them completely, every day for the last four months, sir.”
For those who have forgotten the past 40 years:
Tax cuts for the rich
...don’t trickle down
Boosting military spending
...doesn’t bring peace
Slashing regulations
...doesn’t create jobs
Folks, we’ve seen this all before.
JFK once invited to dinner 49 Nobel laureates, Robert Frost, William Styron, Ernest Hemingway, James Baldwin, Katherine Anne Porter, John Dos Passos, James Farrell and Lionel and Diana Trilling, and others. His line on the occasion became famous: “I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House—with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
Some of you were alive when that happened.
I see this type of tweet regularly now. My suspicion is that it's emblematic of the fact that many people globally are struggling with the notion that although societal non-pharmaceutical interventions for Covid-19 are long gone, something is still very off.
It's the virus.
The irony is almost unbelievable.
For years, some conservatives warned that Obama would turn the White House into a celebrity playground, politicize every institution, and treat it like his personal brand.
He didn’t.
Now there’s a UFC event on the White House grounds, corporate sponsorships everywhere, and a cage fight being used as a presidential spectacle.
Trump did to the White House what his critics feared.
The joke wrote itself.
ICE vehicles hit their car while their children were inside. Then agents dragged the parents out during drop-off and a preschool graduation, in front of crying kids. All on school property.
https://t.co/du9bv2U4pY confirms that schools are supposed to be safe places for children, not federal ambush zones.
That’s not public safety. That’s state-sponsored trauma.
The ammunition to fight ICE is here: https://t.co/Txyhf9LSil
Worth noting: the class act who slandered Michelle Obama at Trump’s White House desecration event (with no pushback from @joerogan) was literally puking on himself at the weigh-in
🚨 For everyone insisting Trump’s UFC event isn’t costing taxpayers a dime:
Maryland State Police.
The National Guard.
Federal agents.
D.C. police officers.
All are reportedly providing security for the event.
That’s before you even get to the debate over sponsorship packages, VIP access, advertising, and the use of public property.
You can support the event.
You can oppose the event.
But let’s not pretend public resources aren’t involved.
When multiple law enforcement agencies and military personnel are providing security, taxpayers are already part of the equation.
Never forget that the man responsible for the USAID funding cuts just became a trillionaire.
He could fund the program with his pocket change.
Instead he took a chainsaw to it and over 600,000 people have died.
Modelling suggests 14 million will lose their lives.
A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know…
It has not “peeked” your interest.
Nor has it “peaked” your interest.
…It has piqued your interest.
You are not “phased” by something.
You are fazed by it.
If you’ve had a long day, you are weary.
If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary.
It is “due course”, not “do course”.
“Per se”, not “per say”.
And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost.
Thank you for your attention during this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping.
This has been a @LairdofthManor announcement.🎩💙

Duran Duran releases their self-titled debut, featuring UK hits “Girls on Film” and “Planet Earth.” It peaks at No. 3 in the UK but sees delayed U.S. success, with a 1983 reissue reaching the Billboard 200 Top 10. The debut album marked the beginning of the “Second British Invasion” for Duran Duran. While it took time to catch on in America, the success of their second album Rio in 1982 helped propel the re-promoted debut into the U.S. Top 10 in 1983, eventually earning Platinum certification.
