@CollebKank73245 Ndugu, I acknowledge your apology. And like you rightly point out, your conduct was out of line and below the standard of an of officer of NRA/UPDF. Officers are Trained to achieve higher resilience levels; not to crack under fire. Reason you, a Lieutenant should be be able to carry a section or platoon of soldiers in battle, but remain calm, razer focused and unfazed. So that STRESSED THING is a shame coming from a TRAINED OFFICER-shouldn't be!
Second point is; X(Twitter) is a MARKETPLACE. A market for knowledge, ideas, information, espionage, spying, leisure and fun, business and robberies...all these happen there. Therefore, the environment in these virtual marketplaces can be very TOXIC, especially to young, inexperienced people from the DISCIPLINED FORCES. The environment can easily compromise the WORK ETHIC of the officers especially if he acts as a freelance, and not there to do official business. That's why it is not recommended for leisure goers to display their military ranks when entering these messy MARKETPLACES. Except for those using them for official assignments. I therefore, advice that if you are not on X FOR OFFCIAL WORK, discard that Lieutenant rank. I dont use GENERAL myself;😜!
My last point, ndugu is this: For all those that enter that SACRED FAMILY OF NRA/UPDF, you must know that you have become APOSTLES of A SACTED LEGACY that was forged in the BLOOD OF TENS OF THOUSANDS of Patriot.
Yes, a sacred legacy- ONE THAT MUST NEVER BE BETRAYED OR DESECRATED.
Soldier on......
As long as I am alive, I will never be accused of corruption. I was raised by a true patriot, a man of great historical significance, a man who stood firmly against corruption. A man who voluntarily donated land to communities for the construction of churches & schools , a man who deeply loved his country and the NRM government. I can never betray the values he instilled in me or the legacy he left behind.
THE WEAPONIZATION OF EXTRADITION TREATIES BY DOMINANT POWERS AGAINST THE WEAKER STATES, AND THE PERPETUATION OF NEO-COLONIAL LEGACY:
Uganda has agreed to extradite its National, a one, MICHAEL KATUNGI, to U.S to be tried for crimes he allegedly committed there. Can U.S extradite its National to Uganda to be tried? The answer is NEVER! That's why it is not a party to the ICC protocol; because they can not allow their citizens to be tried by FOREIGN JURISDICTIONS. And, indeed, in CIVIL-LAW Countries, like France, Germany, Russia, Japan..., there are strict CONSTITUTIONAL/Statutory PROHIBITIONS against handing their NATIONALS over to foreign Countries to be tried.
Because, in essence, it is an abuse of the Principle of the SOVEREIGNTY OF STATES and the Principle of SOCIAL CONTRACT, ie, The SOVEREIGN STATE'S DUTY TO PROTECT ITS NATIONALS. More so, when such EXTRADITION TREATY LACKS THE POWER OF RECIPROCITY, ie, POWER ASYMMETRY, like we see in this case.
Therefore, Uganda must evoke what's known as the ACTIVE PERSONALITY PRINCIPLE where we ASSERT our own CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM against our Citizens for crimes they could have committed abroad. Therefore, Uganda must reject the EXTRADITION of KATUNGI to U.S, and instead, subject him to our own Criminal Trial, here. By so doing, we serve both JUSTICE AND OUR SOVEREIGNTY.
Even in the CA, some of us were against these one-way-traffic EXTRADITION TREATIES. But then, like now, our economic dependency and the never ending conditional aid and leverage nonsense, always determine the outcome!
It is therefore a shame, to extradite our National to U.S when U.S CAN NEVER EXTRADITE AN AMERICAN TO UGANDA. Doing so is a clear sign of the modern MASTER-SLAVE NEO-COLONIAL RELATIONS; where historical subjugation evolved into these, even, not so subtle systems of DOMINANATION.
SHAME, Uganda 🇺🇬!
If you expect the world to be just because your fair then your fooling yourself, thats like expecting a lion not to eat you because you didn't eat it. Sometimes u gotta learn not everyone is fair and not everyone you meet is equal.
The law allows Parliament to approve supplementary budgets when necessary. Today, Parliament approved a loan request that will allow the government to borrow €168.9 million for the development of Phase II of the solar-powered irrigation systems project. ~ Prof. Wilber Ahebwa Manyisa, MP Nakaseke North
