🔵 PlayStation closes Japan Studio, Bluepoint, PixelOpus, Firewalk, and more
🟢 Xbox closes Ninja Theory, Compulsion, Tango, Arkane, etc.
🔴 Nintendo at its lowest point and being the oldest of the 3:
People looking at id Software vacancies for "evidence" of another Xbox closure are barking up the wrong tree on that one.
They just don't have any vacancies.
🎮 ¡XBOX DESMINTIÓ LOS RUMORES! 🔥

🟢 Xbox acquired 5 studios in 2018, here are what games released over 8 Years -
1 The Initiative
❌
2 Undead Labs
❌
3. Compulsion
-South of Midnight
4. Ninja Theory
-Bleeding Edge
-Hellblade 2
5. Playground Games
-Forza Horizon 4
-Forza Horizon 5
-Forza Horizon 6
-Fable
I can’t believe that South of Midnight’s budget is estimated to be over $100 million🚀
Meanwhile…
✅Resident Evil Requiem: ~$60-80m
✅Clair Obscure Expedition 33: <$10m
✅Death Stranding: ~$100m
The has to be something terribly wrong with management and development for a game to have such an inflated budget for something that hardly even looks current gen.
Studios really need to go back rethink their strategies that makes their development time and budget to be that excessive and unsustainable🎤
According to a report from Game File, Microsoft had already decided to shut down or separate from Ninja Theory before the studio revealed its new Senua game at the Xbox Games Showcase
The report states that the announcement was made partly to increase the studio’s appeal to potential buyers or investors. A source familiar with Microsoft’s plans said that a newly announced project could help attract interest in acquiring or spinning off Ninja Theory.
Later reports indicated that Ninja Theory employees were informed about the planned closure, although a sale or independent future for the studio was still being considered.
The information is based on anonymous sources cited by Game File.

GameFile: Microsoft already planned to shut down or split with Ninja Theory when Senua was announced.
"The thinking was that the promise of a newly announced game would help draw investor interest in the studio"

Microsoft didn’t ruin the studios it acquired in its binge of purchases over the last several years. It was the rich sucker who bought them after they were already ruined, paying out valuations based on the success of previous titles, many made more than a decade ago.
In 2005, the games industry was 92% straight men. Today, 43% of junior developers identify as LGBT and nearly 40% identify as women. To hit diversity goals despite senior developers being almost entirely male, these companies started hiring women almost exclusively (transwomen counted for these purposes) into junior roles, and after years of diversity hiring and talent attrition, they are Ships of Theseus, stripped of the institutional knowledge and accrued talent necessary to make games that match the quality or appeal of their previous titles.
The senior people at these studios knew the projects they were working on would not measure up to their older work, and at the precise moment their houses of cards were set to crash down, Sony and Microsoft decided to have a war over the declining market for their struggling consoles.
This involved buying up huge swaths of the games industry at premium prices to make the games these studios were working on exclusive to one platform or the other. But the problem is, almost none of the games the studios they bought put out were as good as the previous bangers that the purchase prices of all these studios were based on.
The people making the games knew they wouldn’t be and this is the reason the former CEOs of these companies were so eager to sell to Microsoft in the first place. If the stuff they were making was bigger and better and poised to be more popular than their older games, companies like Bethesda and Activision wouldn’t have been on the market.
Microsoft and Sony have had to take huge write-downs or fire thousands of people from their billion dollar acquisitions, but they probably haven’t written them down enough or cut costs to reflect the accurate market value of these studios now that the games they were working on when they were acquired have been revealed to be bombs.
Microsoft can’t sell XBox, because it’s not clear there is anyone who would or could buy it. They paid $68 billion for Blizzard/Activision alone, only to discover that the Call of Duty Franchise is running out of juice and shedding players (they’re probably dying of old age).
Microsoft bought Bethesda for $7.5 billion to be the exclusive home of the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout, and it turned out that game was Starfield.
The value of Xbox Studios is supposedly between $70 and $120 billion, but who would conceivably pay that? Even if Microsoft sold off the crown jewel studios piecemeal, it would have to sell them at a loss.
And to who? Sony, who just had to shut down Firewalk Studios and is about to lay off half of Bungie?
Microsoft didn’t ruin everything, it was exit liquidity for the people who ruined everything, and now it is stuck with the ruins.
Our next major patch is out, focusing on a range of UK add-ons, including Class 90 improvements from Alan Thomson Simulation, as well as a patch for the Expert DB BR 145, and additional improvements for Stuttgart Heilbronn. Full details can be found here: https://t.co/ELABbxW9BU

I find myself coming back to play Doom: the Dark Ages as much as Doom 2016.
Doom Eternal makes me sweat and its so mechanically dense that its hard to pick it up after not playing for a while.
I don’t agree with the fact that Dark Ages is “bad” or how some say that it doesn’t measure up to Eternal thats silly.

Anticipated Changes for Xbox under Asha Sharma’s Leadership
1. Shift Toward Annual Exclusives
Xbox will push to release signature exclusives every year. This could strengthen brand identity but also put heavy pressure on development teams to deliver consistently.
2. Expansion Beyond Gaming
By framing competition as “attention,” Xbox will expand into TV, film, and apps. This diversification could broaden reach but risks diluting focus if execution is weak.
3. Restructuring for Sustainability
Unsustainable operations will be cut. Xbox may transform into a Microsoft-owned but independently managed entity, similar to LinkedIn or GitHub, to gain financial autonomy.
4. New Hardware Partnerships
With console production challenges, Xbox is likely to embrace OEM partnerships. Companies like ASUS, MSI, or Razer could manufacture licensed Xbox hardware, reshaping the console market.
5. Studio Consolidation
Overextended first-party expansion will be corrected. Expect closures or divestitures of weaker studios, with resources concentrated on flagship franchises like Halo, Gears, Forza, COD and Fallout.
6. Third-Party Exclusives Strategy
Xbox will actively pursue third-party exclusives, a notable shift from past policy. This could intensify competition with Sony and alter the balance of power in the industry.
7. Platform Infrastructure Overhaul
The Xbox Store and ecosystem will undergo major redesigns. If successful, this could improve user experience significantly; if not, frustration may deepen.
8. Entertainment Ambitions
Xbox aims to become the #1 gaming and entertainment company. Success will depend on how well it integrates gaming with broader media ventures.
🟢 So let me get this straight
Xbox -
✅ Acquired a bunch of dev teams
✅ Gave them a blank cheque
✅ Unlimited time
✅ Unlimited support
✅ Unlimited staff
✅ Complete autonomy of their projects
…and when devs didn’t deliver “successful” games…
…Xbox is somehow to blame?
