Thar is pushing fuel and import costs higher and the trade deficit wider.

The central bank has also stayed on the sidelines rather than selling dollars from reserves, which has let the rate move further.

Very good service delivery by both Uganda Police and the Ministry of Works and Transport.

I applied for my driving permit renewal and made the payment fully online. The process was clear, fair, and well presented. No complications at all.

I then went to the police station for a letter because my original permit was lost. Two professional lady officers issued it promptly.

At the Ministry of Works and Transport offices, everything was processed in less than 10 minutes across the 3 offices visited. I walked out with a temporary permit and was told to pick the final one tomorrow, all without any “special facilitation” fees.
