Prof. John Mearsheimer :
A number of European leaders have basically said we should fight to the last Ukrainian, which I find morally sickening.
The Ukrainians are going to lose this war. They should have quit a long time ago for their own good.
Ukraine is in a demographic death spiral, and we're encouraging them to throw bodies into the meat grinder when they're going to lose anyway.
The British, French, and German leaders are really enthusiastic about continuing the war, but that's because their people are not dying.
That’s quite clear now that Europe is preparing for a future without the US. Where America is no longer the center of the Western alliance.
Trump spent years demanding loyalty from allies. Instead, Europe is slowly building systems designed to function without Washington, FP. 1/

📌 Prof. Marlene Wind: Mainstream Parties in Denmark Have Absorbed, Not Neutralized, the Radical Right
✍️ Interview by Selcuk Gultasli
▶️ As Denmark heads to the March 24, 2026 general election, Professor Marlene Wind (@MwiWind) offers a sharp, research-driven diagnosis of a deeper transformation within European democracies. 🇩🇰🗳️
🎥 In this insightful ECPS interview, Professor Wind challenges the conventional narrative of far-right containment, arguing instead that mainstream actors have internalized key elements of radical-right agendas.
⚠️ “The argument that we have managed to eradicate the extreme right is simply not accurate.”
🔎 Her analysis situates Denmark at the intersection of:
🌐 Geopolitical rupture (Greenland crisis, Ukraine war, transatlantic tensions)
🏛️ Institutional recalibration within the EU
⚠️ The normalization of illiberal political logics
🌎 Despite rising geopolitical pressures, domestic concerns remain central:
💰 Cost of living | 🏥 Welfare | 🚧 Migration
📉 Not decline—but diffusion: right-wing support remains stable at 17–20%.

🇭🇺📞 According to The Washington Post, Szijjarto called Moscow during EU meetings and relayed details of the discussions to Lavrov.
According to sources, such communication actually gave Russia the opportunity to be aware of the internal discussions of the EU. Szijjarto himself does not comment on the situation.
@StephanAJensen@IlvesToomas They have been a security risk for years (as many of us have written about in books, articles, interviews). Why did it have to come to this before this kind of suggestions start popping up? A mystery to me how naive the establishment has been about this Russian puppet
As polls show Hungary's Viktor Orban losing the elections next month, JD Vance plans to visit to bolster him, the most autocratic, anti-democratic leader in the European Union. It is horrible what Trump-Vance stand for. https://t.co/jahe6bVhWe
Hungary immediately leaks all EU talks to Moscow.
Sijjarto “reported” directly to Lavrov about the EU meetings, - The Washington Post.
According to the newspaper, the Hungarian Foreign Minister called Moscow directly during the EU meetings and relayed details of the discussions to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Sources say this communication allowed Russia to stay informed about the internal discussions of the European Union.
Sijjarto himself has not commented on the situation. However, he has visited Moscow several times since 2022 and met with the Russian leadership.

⚡️As Denmark approaches the March 24, 2026 general election, Professor Marlene Wind (@MwiWind) offers a sharp, research-driven diagnosis of a deeper transformation within European democracies. 🇩🇰🗳️
📍In this timely ECPS interview, Professor Wind challenges the conventional narrative of far-right containment, arguing instead that mainstream actors have internalized key elements of radical-right agendas. “The argument that we have managed to eradicate the extreme right is simply not accurate,” she warns—highlighting how restrictive policies have migrated into the political center.
🔎 Her analysis situates Denmark at the intersection of:
🌐 Geopolitical rupture (Greenland crisis, Ukraine war, transatlantic tensions)
🏛️ Institutional recalibration within the EU
⚠️ The normalization of illiberal political logics
🌎Despite rising geopolitical stakes, Professor Wind notes that these dynamics remain a “background condition,” while domestic concerns—💰 cost of living, 🏥 welfare, 🚧 migration—continue to dominate the campaign.
📉 Crucially, support for right-wing politics remains stable at 17–20%, suggesting not decline—but diffusion.
💬 A must-read for understanding how liberal democracies adapt, absorb, and risk reproducing the very forces they seek to resist.

Absolutely spot- on analysis by OBrian. Nothing reassuring about Rubios speech and embarrassing that the audience applauded the way they did. What he in fact said was: become MAGA or you’re on your own.
Just sent out this free piece. Marco Rubio just called on tolerant, democratic, liberal Europe to destroy itself and embrace a Trump-like future. He received a standing ovation and we are told some people are reassured. If so, Europe will deserve everything coming its way.
Poland won't applaud Trump’s vanity project, the Nobel Peace Prize.
Today a major diplomatic row broke out between the U.S. and Poland because Włodzimierz Czarzasty (the Speaker of the Sejm) took a very public stand against Donald Trump.
The catalyst was a formal request from U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, asking international leaders to co-sign a nomination for Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Czarzasty flatly refused.
U.S. Ambassador Tom Rose responded by blacklisting Czarzasty, declaring that the U.S. Embassy would have "no further dealings, contacts, or communications" with him effective immediately.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk joined the fray, telling the U.S. Ambassador that "allies should respect, not lecture, each other.
Roman Giertych then wrote a letter (see in the comments), escalating the rhetoric by comparing the demand for the Nobel Prize to the vanity of the Emperor Nero.
Here is what Włodzimierz Czarzasty said:
Włodzimierz Czarzasty: “Building new platforms like the 'Peace Council' by the United States is, in my opinion, deceptive. We must strengthen the European Union, NATO, the UN, and the WHO. Our security lies there.
President Trump, in my opinion, destabilises these organisations by representing a policy of force and conducting transactional politics. This often breaks principles, values, and international law.
His interpretation of history—for example, regarding the participation of Polish soldiers on missions—and his instrumental treatment of other territories, like Greenland, means I will not support the Nobel request for President Trump. He does not deserve it."
Russia continues to answer diplomacy with missiles.
We are determined to make that choice painfully expensive.
Today, we present our 20th sanctions package.
Sanctions severely hurt Russia’s economy. And every sanction chips away at its capacity for war.
Moscow is not invincible. On the battlefield, its army is stalling. At home, its economy is cracking.
More pressure, together with our partners, and increased military support to Ukraine can shorten this war.
Hard to find words for how disgusting this is. One thing it does say however is that populism is (often) orchestrated from the top and not - as tons of commentators and populism scholars have postulated for decades - from the so-called marginalised ‘people’.
Steve Bannon has actively undermined European democracy for over 10 years. He was involved in Cambridge Analytica and Brexit, a close associate of Epstein, and has promoted the illiberal movement in several European countries.
Time to sanction this convicted con man.
