when God puts me in strange and terrifying situations, I see myself as a cat going to the vet. it’s good for me somehow, I say, or else someone who loves me wouldn’t have taken me there
tangina kung di ka pa talaga galit sa gobyerno natin siguro magreflect ka na kung may kaluluwa ka pa kasi—putangina ano 'to? bakit kailangan umabot sa ganito? bakit ito na ang realidad natin?
Well, when a child is conceived, the DNA split is 50/50 from both parents. Except for one small detail: mitochondrial DNA. It’s passed down only through the mother and never through sperm.
Which means something interesting: all living humans can trace their mitochondrial line back to one woman, not one man.
And every daughter born continues passing that same line forward.
Happy Women’s Day 💐
My sister lives alone in an apartment near her university. She takes the long way home every night. Once, a man followed her through the shortcut alley and told her no one would come to save her.
She keeps her keys between her fingers when she walks.
Unlocks her car from a distance. Locks the doors immediately.
She runs without headphones so she can hear footsteps.
In parking garages, she checks reflections and the back seat before getting in.
She shares ride details every time she takes a taxi. She usually shares a ride cause being alone feels like a risk.
She lies about where she lives. Never posts her location in real time.
Delivery drivers don’t get her real name. A light stays on when she gets home late. By her door sits a pair of men’s sneakers that don’t belong to anyone. This is the WORLD we are living in where a woman have to go above and beyond to just SURVIVE! Don't try to tell me men have it easier than women.
Men will literally believe a woman is a slut from a man with zero proof but all of a sudden they need 200 photos, 65 videos, 15 police reports and 10 witnesses to believe a man is a rapist. Make it make sense
you don’t realise how young 17 is until you’re not 17 anymore, and when you see someone 17 - you see how young they are, they’re silly, they have school, they are kids. somehow when i was 17 i thought this was it but that was barely anything.
woke up and heard a man talking downstairs.. for a brief moment i thought it was my parents talking, like they usually do. but i realized i may never hear them talk for hours again, or see them cook together in the kitchen, or run errands together.
