Zimbabwe will pay $3.5 billion in compensation to White Farmers, whose farms were seized under Robert Mugabe in 2000.
Black Zimbabweans who received the land redistributed by Robert Mugabe will have to vacate their farms.
@daddyhope I will be voting green. Starmer is a tory. Look at the way he’s treated Diane Abbott, Jeremy Corbyn - actual left wing politicians, how he scapegoats trans people and has no respect for the BLM movement
@aren_oliver thank you!! it will happen one day, i aspire to be a man with a podcast and only that when i grow up x but yes it’s a very odd episode. i think maybe it should have been written by a black person, a jordan peele type maybe. needed some spook
i’ve been thinking about starting a podcast about doctor who and race and my goodness this latest ep is…an example! curious what ppl think about the racism bit, i felt nothing and cringed a bit ngl
@princesajesa all i was saying was that there’s ways to show r*pe has happened without showing it over and over and over again for an uncomfortably triggering length of time
@princesajesa being a survivor and getting triggered to hell with no access to care is a difficult situation to be in. nobody said people shouldn’t make art about their lived experiences…that’s what i do for a living so this comment is awks and combative for no reason
@anyataylorolga what i was talking about was the r*pe scenes of which there were so many and they were so long it was triggering. you don’t have to show triggering imagery to make people know that r*pe has happened.
@HannahCCoach when I watched the play at roundabout I was literally weeping. started watching the show out of curiousity to see what happens to a solo theatre piece that becomes a tv series and i will die on the hill that sexual violence does not need to be acted out. so triggering.
@HannahCCoach i do wonder if there’s anyone who saw it and realised how wrong something that might have happened to them was, when i was younger definitely had friends who had men do things to them when they were blackout drunk but didn’t see it as ~that~ or maybe couldn’t bare to.
This summer, the Globe in London is doing Richard III. They are erasing Richard's disability and having a non-disabled actor playing Richard.
This is happening despite the Disabled Artists Alliance having told them how damaging these decisions are to the disabled community.
