Ochai

Tech & Freelancing Creator and Educator | $300K+ Earned Freelancing. Now helping young Africans figure out this remote work thing.

Pounded Yam is the GOAT.

[Ochai @mxochai]

I’ve seen a lot of new faces around here lately, and I just realized I’ve never done an introduction. So, here goes…

Hi, I’m Ochai.. 👋🏾

I’m a Freelancing, Tech, and Personal Growth Creator and Coach.

I’ve been freelancing for 6 years, earning over $300K, and now help young Africans build sustainable careers through freelancing and tech.

I’m an advocate of getting 1% better every day, not chasing overnight transformation.

I treat freelancing as a systems and worldview game. Not a “templates and formats” game.

For my clients, I write and manage SEO content for B2B brands in tech and business.

I also coach African freelancers on how the game actually works. Not how it's supposed to work. How it actually works.

And I help aspiring tech professionals figure out what to learn, how to break in, and how to build a career from it.

So far:
✅ $300K+ earned across platforms.
✅ $150K+ earned on Upwork specifically, where I'm a Top Rated Plus freelancer.
✅ 250+ student testimonials.
✅ 30,000+ freelancers impacted through courses, webinars, and live events.

(Click the link in my bio to learn from me.)

I also hold a First Class BSc in Cybersecurity, which mostly means I think in systems and think I can spot a scam from three miles away.

(Let’s not test that, please. That’s not why we’re here.) 😂

I founded Freelancers Corner, a free and fast-growing community for African talents going global.

I’m also currently building Jaar, the trust layer for social commerce.

Outside work I'm a gym rat, off-and-on chess player, anime fan, and knowledge lover.

Oh, and I have a slight sarcasm problem. You've been warned. 🫵🏾

Here's what to expect from me here:

I talk about freelancing, Upwork, tech, personal growth, and the realities of building a global career from Africa.

Expect practical systems, hard-earned lessons, and the occasional uncomfortable truth delivered with a smile (sometimes).

(ignore the attached picture, I actually bite… most times).

Lastly, pounded yam is the greatest meal ever discovered.

Repost for a young African building a career through freelancing, remote work, or tech. 🔁

Follow along. Let's grow.

See you up top. 🔝

Richard Oyome helped Raenest process $3 billion in transactions. Now, the fintech co-founder wants to do more than move money.

He’s building Raenest into a platform where Africans can receive, save, spend, and grow their money across borders.

@f1iik_me Fr! Thank you so much

[Ochai @mxochai]

A few days ago, I had the honor of speaking at the Raenest Exchange Event 2026.

It was my first public speaking experience so I was a bit tensed earlier.

In fact, it was so bad I nearly declined the offer because I thought I wasn’t ready. I literally had to sit myself down and knock some sense back into my head.

“Oga, since when that one even start? Accept this thing and grow up to the challenge jare. What’s the worst that could happen?”

With how hard I prepared and got so many tips from friends, you’d think I was going to speak at Aso Rock, lol.

Thankfully, everything went well, and now I’ve got some experience under my belt.

Beyond the speaking experience, it was really great interacting and networking with other great minds in the tech, freelancing, and remote work space.

Grateful to @RaenestApp for giving me the platform to impact on the freelancing community and also for the award and recognition.

That’s extra fuel to keep showing up and doing good work.

Cheers to more! 💪🏾
