@__hothot Can’t believe you now have to book a flight that’s scheduled to depart about 30 min after every game we play, so you can be mid-boarding during the last few minutes
@TMGlick I was also thinking about how someone apologized to me at the lake many years ago for cheating off me a lot in calculus. “Anyway, I couldn’t even cheat right; I got a C.” (I got a D.)
In 3rd grade (white) friend’s mom heard there was an Indian girl in the class (me) but didn’t know I was born in Louisville to parents who’d been here a bit. Switched her 9th bday party theme to All About India so I’d feel welcome. Kids in party hats crying looking at saag paneer
My parents came to this country in the late 70s and found their way to Louisville in the early 80s. Denny Crum was the first “American celebrity” they met and we were all in awe anytime we saw him. He has a special place in our entire family’s hearts. ❤️
Big East Tournament (2012?) at a bar near MSG, when he was sitting with LaBradford Smith and was entirely focused on a plate of wings ❤️ @JamieCGlick@StephaniePenn@TMGlick
The best thing about Denny Crum is that almost every Louisville fan I know has both a favorite memory of some moment from one of his teams and a favorite individual memory of interacting with him individually at an event or in public that is just as precious to them.
