There's a trick I see people use disingenuously during online discourse that I you urge to spot and not fall for
Its when someone dismisses a legitimate concern by arguing that other, supposedly more serious problems deserve attention
It's called the 'FALLACY OF RELATIVE PRIVATION'
Say you raise a concern about potholes on a road you use often and you post about it. A random user will come and say that at a time when people are starving and there's no medicine in hospitals how dare you speak about potholes
The reason why it's fallacious and most of the time not done in good faith is
1. The existence of a greater problem does not invalidate a lesser one
2. If only the most serious problem deserves attention, virtually every concern can be dismissed by identifying something worse.
3. Society can address multiple problems simultaneously.
4. It's often a veiled trick to shift from the merits of the argument to whether the issue even deserves to be discussed at all
Many Kenyans comment “all countries are corrupt.”
NO.
You have been sold a lie.
Until I came to Kenya, I never saw corruption.
It just doesn’t happen in many countries & trying to bribe a police officer gets you in jail.
European countries have their issues, yes.
I don’t like the rigidity, intense bureaucracy & imo lack of openness, kindness & more there.
BUT corruption is not something that is global. Police protects people in most other countries. Government agencies are funded & competent. I don’t know all countries but have been to 50+.
And being a politician is not a short cut to getting rich like in Kenya.
One politician & lawyer @EAukot told me when I asked him about KSH 100k he owed me work for: “that’s less than what I spent on weekend drinks.”
The elite does not care about people. They spent like there’s no tomorrow.
Kenya is an amazing country with incredible people & culture.
Imho it has to be careful for the culture to not become crime & corruption though. The leadership & governance is so insanely incompetent & corrupt it is literally unbelievable to understand for me still after years.
Just know that the world cares, believes in Kenya & that it DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS BAD.
The people benefitting from the current status quo tell you it’s like this globally.
It is not.
Or they play the racially profiling card and try to align the oppressed poor with the corrupt elites against the “bad west” while dining & taking their (and your) money. Oh, & ofc they sent their children to live in the “west.”
And “oh no someone from European meddles in Kenya.”
Yes, Kenyan elite stole cash & shares worth KSH ~40m+ from me & police acted compromised.
I “earned” my right to speak up.
Being away from Nairobi has given me perspective again, seeing just how freely people live in most other places.
There are elites, yes, & some tiny corruptions in traffic some places.
But police are not being used to abduct, kill and oppress people.
People have opportunities, people all over the world have leaders who care about their country, people & future.
You CAN have caring + competent leaders Kenya 🇰🇪
Stay strong!
Young Kenyans are planning to move from the street to the ballot box, angry with a political establishment they accuse of corruption and police brutality, and they have the numbers to make a difference. https://t.co/5Uqt6gzJwD
The Kenyan elite seem to laugh at the rule of law & us all.
They lie to our faces, in court & publicly while taking our labor & money.
The CEO who threatened & scammed me, thomas ogutu, told the court under oath that I had “never been a director of my company.”
And he also told me with a crooked smile “you don’t need a good lawyer when you know the judge.” and “charles is onboard to help my company get any regulations and avoid any tax troubles.”
Yet the signed VeGrid shareholder resolution dated 30 December 2025 expressly accepts my appointment as a director “with immediate effect” & authorises the necessary registry filings.
Also signed by then-CEC of Nairobi County charles kerich & @KCBInKenya@Volemi.
The executed agreement from 29 Dec also provides for board membership alongside my advisory role, plus 3% equity. Combined value including cash owed is over $300k.
How does his statement square with those documents?
I want these documents examined together & this discrepancy answered under oath. Does it constitute perjury?
@DCI_Kenya is suppressing evidence (they have) requests from @ODPP_KE for 6 months now. Ombudsman & ODPP complaints actively investigating.
Check these documents with screenshots of ogutu’s sworn affidavit(red) & signed company documents (yellow).
If knowingly false, material statements in the affidavit were proved, the offence would be perjury under section 108(1)(a) of Kenya’s Penal Code, Cap. 63, punishable under section 110 by up to seven years’ imprisonment.
But he might know the judges?
He got away with 44m+ in the Postapay scandal years ago. Check court records also on https://t.co/H2Bk1nzs7J - oh and the whole affidavit stinks of self victimization as well. Typical smell of a sociopath who cannot take accountability for his most obvious lies.
How much corruption can we accept?
I say enough is enough:
Justice for those corrupt crooks!

"Serikali ni ya Ruto, wewe kama ni mwanaume jaribu zuia watu, mwili inapatikana River Suam na kichwa kwingine."~Endebess MP Robert Pukose strongly warns those planning to stop Ugandans from voting in Kenya in 2027.
A significant victory for public interest and the rule of law.
The Court of Appeal has declared null and void the proceedings and consent orders that led to the KSh 2.4 billion payment over the Ruaraka public land dispute, holding that the High Court lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter. The case has now been remitted to the Environment and Land Court for fresh determination.
This judgment reinforces a basic constitutional principle: public land and public money must be protected through lawful and transparent processes.
The next step is accountability. Every shilling paid under the void orders must be accounted for, and the responsible institutions must act on the Court’s decision.
Honored to be named to this year’s #TIME100Next.
The world doesn’t always expect world-class organizations to be built in Africa, especially in school feeding. We’re changing that.

Kenyans mahn
Hi Kenya and @StandardKenya
Do you want a corrupt criminal handling the most of your Kenyan money?
Pretty sure Charles Kerich - who is responsible for more money than anyone else in Kenya as CEC of Nairobi County - has been breaking the law.
He’s been director & shareholder (via his brother Andrew as proxy) of VeGrid Ltd. For the US branch he is actually shareholder himself - check https://t.co/EvxEIg6vGR
🇰🇪 Kenyan law is quite clear about conflicts of interest for public officials.
If you are a County Executive Committee (CEC) member, you are a State officer. You cannot use public office to advance your own private business interests.
📌 Constitution, Article 75: A State officer must avoid conflicts between personal interests and public duties and cannot put private interests ahead of the public interest.
📌 Constitution, Article 77 + Leadership & Integrity Act, s.26: A full-time State officer is restricted from other gainful employment, particularly where it conflicts with the office or impairs independent judgment.
📌 Conflict of Interest Act 2025, s.19: A public officer cannot be a party to or beneficiary of a goods, works or services contract with their own reporting entity—and cannot use official power to award or influence a contract in which they have a private interest.
📌 Leadership & Integrity Act, s.35: You cannot simply do indirectly through another person what would breach the integrity rules if you did it yourself.
Oh and I have recordings and will swear under oath in court Vegrid Ltd. CEO tom ogutu told me charles kerich is the actual director, and he also admitted he is making corrupt illegal moves to benefit the solar company.
Seeing ruto speak about justice & debt makes me so angry.
Here’s my story in Kenya. From day one in 2024 all Kenyans in streets told me how much they hate Ruto for his corruption & crimes.
I had to experience it myself.
When CEO Thomas Ogutu threatened my life to not pay me $300k+ in shares & cash, I saw firsthand the complete incompetence & corruption of government agencies:
Immediately police asked me for bribes to protect me - Ogutu was my neighbor at @HassConsult ‘s Enaki Town.
Then at Kenyan police, the @DCI_Kenya ‘s offices they suppressed evidence since March. They need to send the evidence (I gave them recordings & written threats of Ogutu) to @ODPP_KE for investigation.
If they don’t send it, nothing happens.
Nothing happened - and I have evidence the police was bribed.
In Kenya common, I learned. It’s easier for criminals to pay police a few thousands than millions and land in jail.
Nobody of the Kenyan elite or police lands in jail, even when all the evidence of ruto commanding thousands of unarmed protesters to get killed: https://t.co/itW2wjeUoA
The Kenyans always told me you can speak up, but you will get abducted and killed. I then learned about blogger Albert Ojwang who was killed for less than what I post here now.
Police was not only involved but actually executed him: https://t.co/DphKtIV2Lc
It’s complete impunity by ruto and his gang. They even allegedly killed a key witness, a police officer in witness protection program - for speaking up for justice. They don’t even hide when cause of death was revealed as “depression” - not a proper cause of death. Shockingly I was just talking with witness protection agency about getting protection.
Glad I didn’t and am protecting myself.
https://t.co/UEnvrGnm8m
And while I have been calling out the allegations of corruption by police/DCI in my case to stall my case, for instance mentioning Directors Dorcas Simalo (DCI Gigiri) and Kandie (DCI Regional HQ) their DCI officers Peter Mugangai and Tom Odhiambo mocked me in person and in writing they won’t provide justice, will stall evidence and won’t act “honorable” to me.
Impunity.
But corruption trickles down.
When Kenyan people tell me their president is stealing, I ask how and why?
They mention the many new taxes they pay, and nothing is done for them.
All police does is ask then for bribes or harass them, and roads and infrastructure I have been seeing for years are deteriorating.
Nothing works in Kenya from government basically. I have been to easily 30+ government offices and they have broken chairs, walls cracked and no toilet lits or papers, let alone soap, computers or printers. Yep, it is THAT bad. And police officers make maybe $200/month after 5 years one told me.
In Nairobi…which is as expensive as European cities.
So where are the international loans and taxes going to? Well a few weeks ago it was revealed billions are missing from government budget, and even trillions cannot he accounted for.
https://t.co/yTItMrgFDQ
If you talk to ruto or government people - I was at their capital clubs, met the Moi family, top CEOs of major banks - they always have excuses.
They’re trained in being con men.
And ruto is their best con man, a killer even.
Ruthless is how he asks for more global power and influence, and of course money…which will never benefit Kenyan citizens.
To the contrary - they will pay off the massive loans.
I will share more. For now check the following images - justice is nowhere to be found in Kenya.
Also especially check the comment section of ruto and government agencies.
Kenyans ate righfully furious.
They had enough.
And the world should listen to them.
And not con men like ruto.
Give Kenyan people voices, give them influence and justice.
And not the corrupt and crooked elite.
We are alarmed that Aloikin Praise Opoloje, a young Ugandan woman human rights defender who has spoken out against repression and the torture of activists, has been abducted and that her whereabouts remain unknown. Her disappearance raises grave concerns about the safety of women who exercise their freedom of expression and dare to speak truth to power.
The silencing of women who challenge power is not incidental to repression; it is part of how repression works. Women human rights defenders must be free to speak, dissent, organise and resist without fear of disappearance or reprisal.
@AloikinOpoloje must be released immediately. Her safety must be guaranteed.

Is this the plan?
1. Kill agriculture
2. Kill the informal economy
3. Kill SMEs
4. Defund education and health
5. Kill the people
6. Share land and loot with foreign corporates.
This is me right now. Two years ago I was shot during the June 25 Gen Z protests. I've been living with a spinal cord injury since, and I self-catheterize because of neurogenic bladder.
That led to recurring UTIs and sepsis. Today I successfully underwent surgery at Emory Hospital Nairobi to remove a bladder stone at my left vesico-ureteric junction (5x7mm). The fragments were removed. I'm recovering now with some pain and bleeding, which the doctors say is normal.
@VOCALAfrica_ helped me get here, and I'm grateful. But I still need medication, physiotherapy and follow-up care. I still haven't received any government compensation.
I'm sharing this because I need help for what comes next. Any support means everything. 🙏🏽

Short-range forecasting models make a last-minute move to align with the medium-range forecasts regarding the unsettled weather in #Kenya, especially the coastal strip, tomorrow & Monday.
Geo-statonary satellite imagery shows a narrow band of tightly knit storm clouds that looks like an atmospheric river approaching the East African Coast.
This atmospheric river lands with huge volumes of precipitable water at the #Kenyan coast tonight, bringing very rainy weather conditions there tomorrow & Monday. There's a chance of flash flooding in some areas at the coast.
Further inland in #Nairobi, Central, Mt. Kenya East (leo nimegawanya Mrima 😃), Ukambani & parts of North Eastern, cool-to-chilly, cloudy and showery weather will dominate the weather tomorrow and Monday. Strong south easterlies in the Indian Ocean will do the good job of pushing moisture into Kenya's interior.
