If at least 50% of people don't think you're crazy, you're not innovating fast enough. If fewer than .01% think you're genius, your innovation won't matter.
@VinnyLingham Every second people spend on "crypto" is lost to the world. Governments need to immediately ban it so people can get back to solving real problems.
@Xtina_Korp@elonmusk Of course Starship is very version 0.x, right now. There are huge, crazy hurdles to jump, but if SpaceX can keep this pace of essentially being the 1960's US space program all on its own, jumping those hurdles seems possible.
@PeterSchiff@jack@elonmusk Everything is dependent on the social contract, on the power of institutions. A billionaire is just a beggar without a society respecting laws and norms.
Cryptocurrency is a logically absurd racket.
@elonmusk@jack Bitcoin appeals to you because you think it gives you freedom, but billionaires are beggars in a world without strong governments and institutions.
The value of any currency or asset is entirely dependent on a social order that let's people do more than watch their back.

@INHouseGOP It's time we stomp out the cryptocurrency fire before it gets started.
Imagine a world without monetary policy. The US stands to lose the most as dollar is so privileged.
Maybe we should tax crypto transactions/trading 1000%.
@neildrewitt@Reuters Wow, somebody gets it!
Crypto is a complete fad. Then they bring up "fiat currency" as though an unusual word makes their use of it genius.
There's nothing more "fiat", more based on nothing, than something that has almost no legit use case and pricing determined by the tweet.
@lourdesgnavarro @onesarahjones We need a revival of actual journalism. Don't give context because "context" is a backdoor to punditry. Give facts.
Context is the duty of the editor. Context determines what is actually news, but the minute you think your job is to provide context you're on your way to punditry
@lourdesgnavarro @onesarahjones Is Cuomo best called a journalist? Journalists say what happened. Cuomo's programming is clearly commentary, isn't it?
A bigger problem is the commentary/pundit takeover of journalism.
@ianbremmer@gzeromedia Maybe the State Department needs to stand up its own army, conscripting ordinary, sane Americans to reach out and help, via virtual communication, struggling communities: a Peace Corps on steroids, a Peace and Prosperity Army.
@GnarledGnome@Astro_Wright@SethShostak It creates more urgency for creating a more stable geopolitical landscape, as natural tech evolution was doing the same
Tech advances reduce the money and time required to create mass devastation. The window is closing to ensure dangerous ideologies hold no nation or community.
@Astro_Wright@SethShostak From a national security perspective, this has to be of grave concern. What if these vehicles are from a far advanced civilization? What if one malfunctions and falls into the hands of imperialist regimes who can't seem to shake the desire for conquest or retribution?
@Astro_Wright@SethShostak The fundamental problem with casually dismissing ET among us is that we know life appears to be the most interesting thing in the universe. That creates motive.
We also know technology and science can markedly advance in decades, so saying what's not possible in Gy's is hubris.
