Interesting study by @AdrienDoerig incase you haven't seen, excuse the pun! further bluring the line between visual and conceptual processing for those of us with aphantasia? ๐ค less a deficit, more a different (potentially efficient) cognitive style ๐ง
๐จ Finally out in Nature Machine Intelligence!! "Visual representations in the human brain are aligned with large language models"

@DrJohnVervaeke I have aphantasia, for me its more like a feeling or an emotion i suppose, as sense of just knowing what an apple or a sunset is or means to me for an example. Like a relationship to an idea.
@DrJohnVervaeke As an aphantasic, this new research on imagining without seeing being a potential advantage, was an interesting read alongside your article. Sharing just FYI incase you haven't already seen @_aphantasia https://t.co/3mtwcMEA0F
@JakeOrthwein that's one of the best documentaries I've ever seen Jake! To synthesise all the history and scientific concepts into a narrative a curious layperson like myself can enjoy is a creative art in itself. I can't imagine how long it must have taken you, congrats.
@JusBrierley@dr_mcgilchrist@anilkseth Discourse of the highest order and an example of how debating our differences doesn't have to compromise them! A very thought provoking listen and a reminder to finish both their books. I particularly enjoyed the mention of Darwin and the question of "but where is beauty from?"
@Knox_Harrington There will be many words written about Salah but there will be few finer than these! Neil on the Egyptian king, stirring so many great memories, blink there he is...

@TheKentAcorn and so we begin again ๐ฑ๐ณ
Repetition rewires.
This is 1mmยณ of your brain. Every repeated behaviour, thought, or reaction strengthens specific connections in this network until they become your default.
Your brain doesn't care if the habit is good or bad. It just builds whatever you practise.
You are the author of your own life, and itโs never too late to replace the stories you tell yourself and the world. Itโs never too late to begin a new chapter, add a surprise twist, or change genres entirely.
