This is 2024. This young photographer from Kibra had to put his gear aside to rescue this elderly lady. Big shout-out to Mohamed. Kenyans will always show up for Kenyans.
She went missing last night. She was taken by someone claiming to be a family member when her mom was not around. If you see her, kindly reach out to 0115033806.

Eugene Mutuku was a final year student at KMTC Yata(Matuu). He was set to graduate this year. As part of the course requirement he was expected to be on attachment these few months.
He had just started his attachment on Tuesday this week at a hospital in Kasarani. That's where he was headed to on Thursday when a matatu conductor threw him from a moving NICCO SACCO bus registration number KDV 713J. He was thrown to the tarmac and he was run over.
A good Samaritan quickly picked the injured Eugene who has writhing in pain. As he was rushing him to hospital he found the same bus at garden estate picking passengers. He told them he had the passenger they threw to the tarmac.
He wanted them to take him to hospital but they were unbothered. Instead they told him they will go to the police station to report.
The good Samaritan ended up with Eugene at KNH where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
I don't know what to call this 😢.
This morning, we accompanied the family of Krystabel Anyango Ochieng (Bella) to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Homicide Unit to follow up on the status of investigations into her death.
An account from the family indicates that Bella’s lifeless body was presented to Syokimau Police Station on 1st May 2026 by a man who was in an estranged relationship with her. The post-mortem examination conducted on 4th May established the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head. Despite this report and a recorded history of abuse, the said man was only momentarily arrested before being released without arraignment, charges, or any conclusive finding to exonorate him.
To date, no substantive progress has been made by the DCI offices at Mlolongo and Athi River despite several follow ups by the immediate family and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rigjts (KNCHR).
On account of the slow progress, the family reached out to the DCI and were given audience today by the Deputy Director, Homicide, who undertook to intervene and see to it that this matter is investigated swiftly and conclusively. We thank all officers who have come forward to assist this grieving family to find justice for their beloved daughter.
The femicide crisis in our Country has left one-too-many families wallowing in the miasma of unanswered questions and anxious hope for justice that never comes. Bella cannot be just another statistic.

On what she'd tell her 16-year-old self: "So proud of her. She never gave up. She had to go through a lot and kept moving forward."
