Salah is an interesting one.
We know he'll get 200+ points but at 12.5M & with Haaland perma-captain, can we really justify having him?
Which one?
- SON, BRUNO, Maddison, Saka, Mitoma, TRIPPIER, Alvarez = 54.4M
- SALAH, MBEUMO, Maddison, Saka, Mitoma, BOTMAN, Alvarez = 54.3M
Thankful to everyone who still maintains that Haaland is not perma-captain - please continue
Lucky to get out of this GW with the tiniest of red arrows after a few dumb decisions
Leaving Mbeumo on the bench and bringing in Gabriel for a -4 was not my finest hour π
93 this week and I'll say it again...
Salah is NOT ESSENTIAL if you're not captaining him every week
Would I like to be able to fit him in? Absolutely
Would I consider getting him if he keeps on this way & Haaland doesn't return to high output? Of course
But he's not a must
I've already made my 2 free transfers earlier this week.
Avoided the price rises but this strategy can easily backfire.
Like it did when I brought Botman in earlier a few weeks ago - he still hasn't yet played a game since he's come into my team.
Watkins was just killing me every week.
And I wanted Bowen alongside him. But not enough cash, so Luiz will have to do for the next 3.
His 4 yellows worry me, so another risk there.
Bowen in after 2-3 weeks.
You can't play this game effectively without calculated risks.
Essential is someone killing your rank every week
Right now - Trippier, Son & Watkins are becoming closer to essential than Salah
They WILL kill your rank
Haaland too. Because when he scores 3 again, most will have him captained
I kinda like that most people will ignore this
Last 5 gw's:
Salah (12.7m): 49 points
Trippier (6.9m): 52 points
Unless you're captaining him every week, Salah is not essential
Without him, you can get a midfield of Saka, Son, Maddison, Odegaard, Bowen that covers Salah's points
Plus Haaland, Alvarez/Watkins AND Trippier
@NinjaFPL1 π― exactly the same principle
If you're not captaining either most weeks, the other isn't essential.
However, the no of quality midfield options & Trippier is what makes it interesting.
Get ready for people to freak out when Haaland scores consecutive hat tricks again
Number of players per position with 47+ points:
GK: 0
DEF: 2
MID: 11
FOR: 3
It's never been more critical to pick the right defenders & forwards.
This will make or break your rank every week.
Praying Bruno doesn't go down in price before the deadline.
Plan on saving transfer this week and then next week doing:
Bruno -> Odegaard
Mbeumo -> Bowen
40 points & a drop of nearly 250k in rank - not the best week
I'll decide on whether I'm making a transfer after the IB
Odegaard, Bowen, Saliba & Estupinan on my radar over the next 3-4 weeks.
Sterling is an explosive asset.
At his price, these are the types of players you want to consider holding long-term.
Because their upside far outweighs their (potentially many) blanks.
Your 9m+ players should be the ones who consistently deliver every week.
Jammy bench points are not luck
Leaving Botman in last week worked well to get Andersen's points off the bench
Doing the same this week and hoping Archer hauls, should Saka not play
All set for the weekend unless something catastrophic happens with injuries late on.
